Kind Green by Love Some Tea. . . . .

The tea leaves are long, twisty, intact, and dark green. I used the entire sample packet and steeped it for 3 minutes at 175 degrees in about 6 ounces of water.

This tea starts to smell quite buttery and floral while steeping. The water’s not turning color much, but it smells very nice. (When I saw the leaves and smelled the sweet and buttery flavor I kind of forgot this was a green tea rather than an oolong tea, so I was expecting the water to get darker than it did.)

After steeping, the tea liquid is a light whitish yellow; there’s not really much green in it at all. It tastes astringent, floral, and a bit sweet (honey-like?). It has fruity and orchardy notes and maybe a hint of umami. It really tastes much more like an oolong to me than a green tea, with its orchid-fruity taste and lack of the usual green tea flavors like jasmine/grass/seaweed/etc. Although there’s a bit of umami, there’s not a lot of vegetal flavor. The leaves looked oolongy too–super long and twisty.

As I continued drinking this tea, I found it to be a very complex, fulfilling cup. It has more than enough flavor notes to stand on its own without sugar or milk, and is interesting enough that I didn’t get tired of the flavor and found myself wishing for more when I’d finished. I normally consider myself more of a dark-tea person (and don’t drink oolongs or greens much) so that’s quite impressive.

The tea company has a focus on natural tea production and harvesting tea leaves in their natural state (grown pesticide/fertilizer free and plantation free in the forest), which means their processing tends to be a bit different than conventional processing. This may account for the super-high quality of the leaves and the fact that it has elements of oolong as well as of green tea (at least in my opinion). I’m kind of in love with this tea now so I might just have to go and buy some more from their website now. And if you enjoy complex oolong-y flavors and high-quality tea leaves in your cup, you might want to do the same. 🙂

Coconut Green Tea from LST. . . .Love Some Tea. . .

I love green tea, and I love coconut so I was pretty excited to try this tea. It was better than I could have hoped.

It’s a smooth green tea with a very slight smoky flavor, and an amazing coconut aroma and flavor. I could drink this delicious tea all day. It’s clean, and decadent. It has that kind of fatty coconut flavor, and I mean that in the best way. The coconut kind of cuts the earthiness of the green tea. I had mine warm and it was a wonderful way to wake up. I have a feeling this would be amazing iced as well.

This tea is perfect for anyone who enjoys slightly smoky flavors with a nice dose of coconut flavor. But don’t expect the overly sweet coconut flavor you get from artificially flavored coconut beverages. This is the real deal, real coconut flavor that is not cloyingly sweet at all. I bet this would also make a fantastic green tea latte with coconut milk, iced or hot!

I had never heard of LST tea before, but after trying this delicious tea I hope to try many more flavors. They are an ethical and sustainable tea company which in my opinion makes the tea taste even better!

Green Rainbow from Love Some Tea. . . . .

Being summer time in the Midwest, cold brew tea is where it’s at.  I love drinking cold brew all day at work.  All I do is take my favorite water bottle, set it up the night before with a few scoops of tea, allow the tea to brew and viola, the next morning I have wonderful fresh cold brew tea to enjoy during the day.  The other day, I thought I’d try this dandy from Love Some Tea as my daily cold brew.

Green Rainbow is a flavored passion fruit green tea that gives so much loving.  When you first open the bag, you are greeted with a gorgeous fruity aroma that demands attention and cries to be cold brewed with loving care.

Cold brewed, this tea is the perfect answer to a hot summer day.  With a green tea base that is light, refreshing, but full of flavor mingled gracefully with the passion fruit flavor, each sip becomes more satisfying than the last.

What really kept me drinking this tea all afternoon was the tangy almost sherbet like flavors this tea yielded.  I was able to keep drinking this tea all day by just continuously adding water and ice to my water bottle.

For my first experience with Love Some Tea, I’m quite pleased with how this tea turned out as a cold brew.  Not sure how I would like this tropical sherbet like tea hot brewed, but it doesn’t matter.  This is one tea that may just become a staple in my tea stash during the summertime to enjoy on days when I need a cold brewed treat.
