Rose Marzipan Black Tea from Stylin’ Tea Blends

Oh…I honestly could NOT wait to try Rose Marzipan Black Tea from Stylin’ Tea Blends because of my former love of Teavana’s Rose Marzipan from years ago – and I realize that is a blast from the past but let me explain.

Years ago my favorite tea from Teavana was their Rose Marzipan.  I find a lot of their teas to be over sweetened and overuse the dreaded hibiscus!  However I really LOVED that specific tea from Teavana regardless.  When they did away with it I felt a bit lost.  I have been searching for something even remotely close to that for years.  Enter Rose Marzipan Black Tea from Stylin’ Tea Blends!

Eventho Rose Marzipan Black Tea from Stylin’ Tea Blends doesn’t have the candied rose like that ‘other company’ did and I find this one to have more cardamom and almond than the other company did – I have to say I was blown away by Rose Marzipan Black Tea from Stylin’ Tea Blends!

I am no longer lost when it comes to finding the PERFECT Rose Marzipan!  Thank you – Stylin’ Tea Blends!  I have tried other Rose Marzipans and I have been left wanting.  Rose Marzipan Black Tea from Stylin’ Tea Blends is just what I have been craving!  And I’m not sure HOW they did it without those crystallized rose petals!  Perhaps it’s the addition of the Lychee or the overall superior ingredients.  Whatever it is…I’m truly GRATEFUL!

Rose Marzipan Black Tea from Stylin’ Tea Blends smells like a bakey-black tea with cardamom and rose.  The flavor is sweet, bakey, floral, spicy-like-baked good spices, and fruity!  All flavor ratios are ideally in tact!  Nothing overpowers the others!  If I had 3 thumbs…I would give this one ‘3 thumbs up’!

Taster’s Review:

Fig Formosa Oolong from Stylin’ Tea Blends is a tea that I should have tried a long time ago. This lovely blend is soothing my tired soul today!

I have been on an oolong kick lately.  This one caught my eye with the flavoring of the fig promise.  I have to say, the promise delivers but in a different way than expected.

First off, lets chat about the dry leaf. The dry leaf is a lovely sweet candy like aroma.  Almost like candied figs.  That was the first thought that came to my mind.  So did this tea deliver on the promise of the sweet candied figs? Yes and no.

This tea didn’t exactly have a fig like flavor but what this tea does deliver on is an almost earl grey like oolong.  I know, peculiar, but that is what this reminds me of. There is a resemblance to earl grey that is just too hard to ignore.  I can’t say I pick up beramot oil per say.  But if I didn’t know better, I would think this was an earl grey oolong! (Which I typically don’t care too much for. But this was is simply brilliant!)

The tea has a sweet yet floral like flavor that swirls on your tongue and plays with your senses.  The oolong has a silky buttery feel that really lets the other flavors become the star.  Really lovely. A great mix of a sweet yet floral tea with a lush decadent background that leaves you wanting more.

Like I said, this tea is really soothing my soul today and giving me all the warm feels!

Taster’s Review:

I know. A rhubarb tea.. .  how odd, right? I thought so too.  Probably why it took me so long to give it a go.  Let’s start with how this tea looks.  This tea had the most gorgeous oolongs intertwined with a few larger rose pieces.  A really stunning blend.

The aroma this dry leaf gave off was sweet and slightly floral.  I had always thought rhubarb was more of a tart flavor so I was very shocked and pleasantly surprised when my nose encountered this glorious aroma.  This tea released an aroma that I want bottled in air fresheners and candles alike.

I brewed this up like I do my oolongs- about 190F or so and about 3 minutes to start.  I still had my hesitations.  My brain kept saying- This tea has RHUBARB in it!!! And I honestly couldn’t get past it.  Finally the tea had cooled slightly so I could take my first sip.

Ever have a tea that made you hear glorious singing and just made you sigh? Well this tea did just that.  I can’t honestly say that I’ve ever had rhubarb before but I’m seeking it out! This tea was brilliant, bright, and vibrant. The oolong was a mellower base allowing the flavors to really produce a solid feel.  The flavorings were slight, but enough so there was this slightly sweet yet tart flavor with just a kiss of floral love.  I can’t describe how amazingly light and refreshing this tea was. This is a tea that will make you dream about the next cuppa you get to have of the blend.  It was that good and I still can’t get over how much I adore this oolong blend.  I wish it was still available from Stylin’ Tea Blends because I want gobs of this tea.  I actually felt like crying after the 6th steeping and I knew it was getting close to the time I would have to head home for the day.  I knew I would have to say goodbye to this tea but I am hoping a quick google search will get me more of this gorgeous blend.

Taster’s Review:

I was in a mood today for oolong. Been drinking it all day actually. Today was just one of those days were you wanted something rich, comforting, and a bit more complex.

Digging thru my tea stash I stumbled upon this beauty.  The leaves were gorgeous- dark and slightly twisted.  They yearned to be brewed up!

Brewed these up with water prepped at 195 per the steeping parameters and I allowed them to steep for about 3 minutes.  I was greeted with the most marvelous flavor! Rich, deep, well balanced, slightly vegetal, but so incredibly smooth.  This is was of those lush silky teas that give you that whole mouth feel and leave you craving more as soon as you finish your first sip. A gorgeous blend for sure and one that I’ve now brewed up a few times-enjoying each cup.

I can’t say that I picked up any cinnamon like flavors but I did pick up the sweet potato like resemblance and oddly enough the honey orchid profile. Those two flavors mingled together so nicely.  Sounds odd to say that they did but I finished off this tea in no time. A really fabulous tea for those days when you need a tea to comfort you all along your way!
