Taster’s Review:

OK right off the bat, I have to say that I really like Teatulia.  They are dedicated to environment – even to the extent of revolutionizing their packaging to eliminate waste.  Just check out the homepage of their website, and you’ll see what I mean!

This is a brisk, inviting breakfast tea.  It starts off smooth, which leads into a slightly brisk and slightly bitter taste and recovers with a sweet finish that is almost honey-like.  The bitterness is not strong at all, and does not interfere with the tea flavors; I think it actually enhances the tea because the sweetness seems to come through just a little bit sweeter and tastier than it might have without it.

I must admit, though, that I was expecting something different when I first tasted this tea.  I don’t know exactly what I was expecting, but with a name like “Bengal Breakfast” I expected something stronger and bolder than what is in my cup at the moment.  That is not to say that it isn’t a delicious tea – it is!  It just is not as invigorating as some of the breakfast teas I’ve encountered, and not as stout as I personally envisioned it to be (maybe I was thinking Bengal – Tiger – rough and tough and raring to go?)

While I enjoyed this tea hot, I think it would make a very nice iced tea as well.   Because of its somewhat clean and mild character it would take well to whatever additions you might like to add – from milk and honey, to flavored syrups, to just a simple slice of lemon or lime.

Tasters Review:

I have tried this tea several times and would like to share some of my findings with you.   This Loose Leaf Dry Leaf Smell is CLEAN and Crisp! The color is a reddish dark brown. It has a strong, bold, and malty. It’s true black tea but with a black sweetness I can’t seem to shake. I would classify it as a good stand-bye to have on hand for any black tea lover.

I did try a 2nd infusion on this one and it was a little weaker on the black tea taste but  more of a nectar or sweet taste and was still VERY Yummy.

I also had the opportunity to try a sample bag of this.  The taste is more mellow and I do prefer the loose leaf over the bagged version but I would suggest either bagged or loose leaf to anyone at any time of day.  Neem Nectar Tea from Teatulia Teas is a very good, solid black tea.
