Power Up with Purple Tea from Kenya. . . .

Just when you think you’ve tried every kind of tea you can think of, you stumble across something new.  Not black tea or green tea but, Purple Tea?  I had to give it a try.

This batch of tea had enormous, voluminous leaves that puffed up the sample bag.  The leaves were long and dark, tightly curled, and exceptionally elegant.

Though the leaves were beautiful, they weren’t purple in color, but instead looked like traditional black tea.  Would the brewed leaves be any different?

Black teas brew up dark sienna brown, rooibos teas are reddish amber, and green and white teas brew up golden or melon green.  Does this Purple Tea actually turn the water purple?

Not exactly, though I will say that the brewed tea is a notable cooler color than most brews.  The Purple Tea brews up a muddy, blue-green.  It’s far from traditional grape juice purple, as far as the tea color wheel is concerned, brewing up blue-green still pretty unusual.

With all this thought about the beautiful appearance of the leaves and the brew, we finally get to the taste.  This Purple Tea tasted surprisingly light and juicy, like green grapes and white wine.  There was also a flash of black currant tartness at the back of each sip that reminds you that this has a flavor palette beyond a typical green tea or an oolong.  As the tea cooled, I noticed more of a muscatel, earthy, grape flavor that helped flesh out the forward, bright fruit notes.
Purple tea is grown near the equator in a sunny environment with lots of ultraviolet rays.  To survive, this tea is high in antioxidants, like blueberries and pomegranates.  When you want to expand your palette and get a health-boost, brew up some Purple Tea and feel the purple power!

Tasters Review:

Oolong Tea is the “Rising Star of the Tea Drinkers Universe” according to MarketPressRelease.com and I totally agree!  I’m so happy Oolong Tea is become more and more popular around the world!

“Like black tea, oolong tea contains antioxidants, but it has more of them than black tea because oolong tea isn’t subjected to as much oxidation/fermentation during processing as black tea is. ” (Direct Quote from above linked article).

Hong Shui Oolong from Zi Chun has a great taste that men and women – young and old will enjoy!

The best way I could try and describe the taste of this one is that it has a roasted or toasted nutty flavor with a little bit of charcoal flavor. As it cools for a minute or two…it has a juicer finish.  It’s very interesting and pretty tasty!

Another winner from Zi Chun!

Product Description:

This blend just might give you the edge you need to stay healthy this fall. It’s a white Bai Mu Dan, so it’s naturally high in immunity-enhancing antioxidants. Plus it contains licorice and goji berries, a Chinese wonderfood reputed to have 500 times more vitamin C than oranges. The best part? The almonds and cocoa nibs. They don’t fight colds, but they make this an amazingly tasty weapon of choice.

Tasters Review:

Upon opening the package this smells like nuts!  Lots and Lots of Nuts!  Almost a peanut butter type aroma.  Underneath I can smell a little fruit and even less flower-likeness.

I’m not gonna lie…I stole an almond sliver before infusing…it was tasty!

After infusion this smelled like almond but more mellow. I can also taste the Goji Berries slightly.   The white tea itself has a great clean flavor!   I can’t really taste the licorice much…but that’s ok with me…oh wait!  There it is…it’s “on the assist” and on to the aftertaste…but only a hint!  It seems to squeak it’s way in there!

This is a creative and comforting blend!  It’s fun and unique!  I’m very happy about this tea it seems to be the full package!  Good and good FOR you!

Tasters Review:

This DOES have GREEN TEA in it but since it’s not a bagged or loose leaf tea and more of a tea product or a product from Green Tea…I thought I would categorize it under our Tea Products and Accessories Section.

“Pink” certainly IS Pink in color and smells like berries and a hint of grapefruit and/or lemonade. It’s incredibly sweet and fruity without being tart and it’s very tasty.  It’s is NOT chalky…which is a definite PLUS.  Like I said – it tastes like berries – moreso strawberries…and I can also up on a pineapple and lemonade type taste. There is NO funky after taste and it’s very thirst quenching…both of which are very important findings to point out – might I add.   It’s a wonderful change-of-pace and a nice pick-me-up!

This one really surprised me and I think it’s a great product that uses green tea in it that isn’t traditionally a tea-tasting product for the sake of tea but still gives you the benefits of green tea!

If I had a large box of this stuff on hand I would totally see myself drinking it several times a week!
