White Jasmine from The Cozy Leaf. . . .

I received this as a sample simply labeled “White Jasmine.” I assumed it was a white tea scented with jasmine, but I looked it up on the company website. Good thing, too, because it is actually a blend of jasmine green tea, white tea, heather flowers, and rose petals – all organic, so that’s nice!

While it carries a little of the scent of the flowers, it really does not taste anything like jasmine tea to me, white or green! Mostly I just taste green tea. It isn’t a bad tea and it’s great that it is a fully organic option, but definitely could use a new name in my opinion

The company blends their teas with a goal of bringing healing to the drinker, so I think it would be worth a try to sample some more of their blends and see what strikes my fancy.

You can’t go wrong with a smooth & full Sencha green tea with refreshing & invigorating peppermint…can you? I don’t think so! It’s been a while since I had a nice Sencha Minty Tea! This Sencha Mint from The Cozy Leaf is what’s in my cup as of late! And it’s putting a smile on my face!

It’s an artisan loose leaf tea that is organic and hand blended! It’s the tea trifecta, folks!

The Sencha itself is smooth yet full. It’s fresh and really stands up to any of the better and best Sencha’s I’ve tried. Pair that with a gentle mint and we have a REAL WINNER!

Because I’m a HUGE mint fan I would welcome more of a punch you in the face type of mint here but I also appreciate a more gentle mint from time to time, too! Just as people don’t always scream – sometimes they whisper…tea’s don’t always have to smack you in the face…sometimes they give you a gentle hug and are comfort in a cup, right!?

Yum! This is one for the books! And one I hope stays in my personal stash for a while because I will truly miss it when it’s gone!

Taster’s Review:

This Organic Soothing Lemon Wellness Herbal Tea from The Cozy Leaf is indeed a soothing blend!  As I’ve said before (and will no doubt say again in the future), rooibos isn’t my favorite tisane, but, I find that I do like it better when it’s organic (and yes, there is a difference that’s discernible in the taste!)

I also like how the nutty and earthy tones complement the lemon-y notes here.  The lemon isn’t an in-your-face kind of flavor … just as the name implies, it’s soothing.  It’s a calm, gentle flavor that is a little bit tart, a little bit sweet and even a wee bit bitter.  I find that this tends to be true of blends with the citrus peel in them.  Not a bad thing – the contrast keeps the cup interesting.

The lemongrass enhances the citrus tones in a sweeter way, and adds a hint of smooth, buttery taste to the drink.  I like that this is a relaxing cup of tea that warms me up when I drink it hot, but is also tasty when served iced.  I feel good when I sip it – it’s a very uplifting sort of tisane.

The Cozy Leaf was previously known as Teas and Tapestries, and we have reviewed a couple of their teas here on this blog.  They have a very impressive line up of teas, I think I might have to visit them again when my tea budget allows!  A really nice company and a really good product.
