Taster’s Review:

Well, this is it, folks!  This is the last tea that I have to try from the Fashionista Tea collection!  And I saved (one of) the best for last!  Organic Creamy Earl Grey Black Tea!

If you’ve been reading my reviews for any length of time, you are probably pretty aware of my love affair with the smooth Mr. Grey.  I’ve never made it any secret of how much I adore the combination of rich black tea and the tangy bergamot fruit.  And I’m always excited to try variations of the classic combination of bergamot and black tea … like this Creamy Earl Grey from Fashionista Tea.

They combined the delicious flavor of the traditional favorite and added a touch of French Vanilla, which adds a smooth, creamy note … eliminating the need to add milk or cream to get that delicious latte flavor!  This has that flavor built right in!

But that’s not the reason I love it so much (because I rarely add milk or cream to my Earl Grey tea … make that VERY rarely … as in nearly never!)  I love this because the creaminess of the vanilla gives the Earl Grey a really different kind of flavor.  It is smooth and creamy, of course, and sweeter than the standard Earl Grey, but it is the play between those sweet, creamy notes and the bergamot that I really enjoy.  It gives it an almost “creamsicle” kind of taste … only more interesting because the orange notes here are bergamot orange!  It tastes like an exotic creamsicle.

The bergamot is markedly toned down here, it is not as sharp or tangy as it is in the classic version of Earl Grey.  But don’t mistake that as meaning that there is less flavor – because this cup is definitely a full-flavored tea.  It has a rich, solid flavor that offers a creamy overtone, tangy mid-notes and a strong, black tea base that supports it all.  It is not overly astringent (it’s quite mild as far as astringency goes!) and not at all bitter.  Just … really enjoyable!

After having tried all of the teas in the Fashionista Tea collection, I really must say that this company has some MUST TRY teas in their collection … and this one is among them.  I’d also recommend their Fashionista Blend and their White Tip Jasmine Tea.  Of course, you can’t go wrong with the Basic Black Blend, either.    And you’ll LOVE getting a package in the mail from them – the packaging is as much fun as the tea!

Taster’s Review:

This Organic Orange Chamomile Herbal Tisane from Fashionista Tea is an impressive tisane!

The first thing that impressed me is the appearance of the dry leaf – lots of large chamomile blossoms and not a lot of chamomile dust.  I think that this is the one major factor that often turns me off when it comes to chamomile tisanes … that they are composed of crushed chamomile instead of the blossoms.  The crushed chamomile produces a very off tasting tisane, in my opinion.  I like that I can see the large, whole blossoms here.

And the flavor is very surprising!  The combination of the green and red rooibos as well as the chamomile produces a pleasantly sweet taste that is slightly nutty with lovely apple-like notes.  There is a touch of cinnamon to this as well … not a strong, dominate flavor, but enough to accentuate the apple-like taste in a really pleasant way.

The orange note is also surprising in that I had expected it to be a stronger flavor here, but, it is a soft orange taste … in keeping with the overall “softness” of the cup.  This tisane doesn’t have a powerful flavor – it’s gentle.  Flavorful – yes indeed.  But it doesn’t bash me over the head with strong flavors.  Another surprising thing about the orange in this cup is that it is more like a “citrus” taste … vaguely reminiscent of a citrus punch rather than a distinct orange-y taste.  Like a combination of orange and lime.  It’s quite enjoyable!

Yet another lovely surprise from the folks at Fashionista Tea!  I have really enjoyed everything that I’ve tried from them!

Taster’s Review:

It seems like it’s been ages since I’ve last had a jasmine tea!  It really hasn’t been all that long, but, whenever I do sip on a jasmine tea, I can’t help but wonder why has it been so long since I’ve had jasmine!  I love jasmine tea so … it’s one of those teas of which I never tire.

And this Organic White Tip Jasmine Green Tea from Fashionista Tea is an amazing jasmine!

I’ve read tasting notes from those who don’t like jasmine teas … and jasmine is one of those teas that can either be very right or very, very wrong.  It is important that the tea be scented with jasmine rather than being flavored with it.  And there is a distinct difference.  A scented jasmine tea is one that was processed by layering the newly harvested tea leaves with jasmine blossoms so that the tea leaves can absorb the essence of the jasmine flower.  A scented jasmine tea tastes like the jasmine flower without tasting like perfume.  It has a lovely floral quality that is exquisitely sweet and exotic.

A flavored jasmine is one that has been flavored using an oil.  The jasmine oil imparts a very perfume-y quality to the leaves, and the result often ends up tasting like you’re sipping on perfume.   I don’t know about you, but sipping on perfume isn’t my idea of a tasty cuppa!

THIS jasmine tea tastes like a scented jasmine – with a light, lovely, sweet floral quality that does not taste perfume-ish whatsoever.  It is smooth and refreshing.  The sweet, vegetative tones of the green tea comes through nicely.  There is a slightly dry astringency to the tea … it is very mild.  This is truly a perfect balance of flower and tea!

A really excellent jasmine tea – if you are looking for a jasmine tea with a lighter jasmine essence that tastes natural, sweet, and not at all perfume-y … this is the one to try!  And you’re going to love dealing with Fashionista Tea – I can’t say enough about how wonderful this company is!  They are a really excellent company and offer a superb product!  That’s a win-win!

Taster’s Review:

I know I’ve said it before, but I’m going to say it again:  I love spiced chai blends!  And this Organic Masala Chai Blend from Fashionista Tea is fantastic!  It is delicious!

It has a good amount of spice to it – it’s pleasantly spicy – but there is a certain sweetness to this that is grabbing my attention.  I can taste the sweeter side of the cinnamon, of the cardamom and of the cloves, and these sweeter notes are really delightful, and a lovely contrast to the spicy, peppery notes of the ginger, and the zesty notes of the other spices.  This chai is a really lovely balance of sweet and spicy.

And as good as the spices are to a chai blend … a chai also needs a solid background of tea … and this blend uses an Assam blend that is rich, malty and flavorful.  I like that I can taste the black tea … it doesn’t taste bitter or overwhelming … but it is strong enough to stand on its own too.

This chai is really good served straight up – with no additions!  If you’re trying to eliminate dairy from your diet, this chai tastes great without the milk.  But if you don’t mind adding a splash of milk … this chai is also yummy served as a latte – brew it double strength and then add a little bit of milk or cream to the brewed cup, along with a drizzle of honey or a half a teaspoon of turbinado sugar … just enough to bring out the spices without making it too sweet.  I like that the milk does not mask the flavors … it just enhances the cup!

Another AWESOME tea from Fashionista Tea.  And … every time I write about Fashionista Tea, I mean to make mention of their packaging … but I keep getting so caught up with the delicious teas that I keep forgetting to mention how much fun the packaging for Fashionista Tea is!  Very colorful and very FUN … it’s a pure delight to receive a package from Fashionista … and I love their beautiful tins!

Tea Description:

Organic green tea carefully blended with organic raspberries and essence of pomegranate.  A tart and tangy taste to the palate. Very Good hot or iced.

Taster’s Review:

As I’ve stated before, I absolutely love pomegranates, even though it’s a fruit I don’t eat very often, because they tend to be a bit on the pricey side, and since I’m usually the only person who eats them in my household, I think it’s a little selfish of me to choose such an expensive fruit just for me.  So, when I find a pomegranate tea like this Organic Green Pomegranate Tea from Fashionista Tea, I am very eager to try it.  It’s my way of indulging in one of my favorite fruits without feeling guilty about it!

And this is so good!  This blend combines the flavor of pomegranate as well as raspberry … and I think it’s a very good combination indeed.  The raspberry offers a hint of tartness that accents the natural tart note of the pomegranate, as well as a lovely depth of flavor.  I taste both components, not just the pomegranate accentuated by the raspberry, but the raspberry as well, and I like the way these two fruits taste together.  They taste smooth, sweet, and with just the right amount of tartness to come off as tangy without being puckery-sour.

The lush flavor of the organic Sencha also has something to do with the smooth, sweet flavor.  It has a light, buttery taste, and just a hint of a vegetative note … nothing that interferes with the fruity character of this blend, just enough to remind you that it’s a green tea that you’re drinking.  The best part of this tea, I think, is the buttery quality … its has a soft, silky texture and taste.  It’s really pleasant!

This is a tea that tastes great served hot, but, the flavor remains as it cools, so it would be a perfect tea to serve iced as well.  I like this one a whole lot!
