Eden Oolong Tea from TOCHA Tea

Eden Oolong from TOCHA Tea – I LOVE the name and the tea isn’t too shabby either.  This tea is organic loose leaf inside sheer sachets.  I can clearly see all of the plump ingredients in each bag.  Once steeped the oolong leaves a nice lighter glowing golden hue in the cup!

Eden Oolong from TOCHA Tea is please on the nose and on the taste buds!  It’s a florally-sweet flavor that is mild and pretty.  It leave no specific aftertaste which I love.  This makes a decent iced tea as well.  I have to say I am pretty impressed with this tea!

I have to say I’m also LOVING the tea tin that Eden Oolong from TOCHA Tea came in.  The labels are beautiful.  Each tea flavor and offering have various colors flowing on the tea tin label that a dreamer like me could easily get lost in.  The colors swim together like a watercolor painting!  This tea puts a smile on my face!

Taster’s Review:

There is something about jasmine pearls that make me so happy … I love to watch them brew, I love their aroma, I love the delicious tea they brew.  It is a very happy tea for me.  And this Fragrant Pearl Jasmine Green Tea from Life in Teacup is an example of jasmine pearls at their finest!

jasminepearl
What the pearls look like when they open up …

The dry pearls are very aromatic, smelling of the exotic flower.  It took a few infusions to get these tightly wound pearls to open fully, but, that’s a big part of the joy for me … more infusions mean more tea!  I brewed the pearls in my gaiwan, and infused the leaves six times and combined all six infusions in my jasmine Yixing mug.  (Yep, I have a mug just for jasmine tea!)

The result is a very flavorful cup of tea that tastes strongly of jasmine.  But what I like about this is that the floral notes do not taste fake … this is a jasmine tea that was flavored with the scenting process.  Lovely!

This cup has a wonderful balance of green tea and jasmine … sweet, alluring jasmine with hints of buttery vegetation.  So delightful!  But then, I’ve come to expect that from Life in Teacup.  They offer some of the very best teas I’ve ever had.

Organic Superfine Keemun Fragrant Black Tea from Teavivre

Making process of this tea will take 8 – 9 hours, including lightly sun withering, rolling, fermentation, drying, and manual kneading. The dry leaves are tight and thin. Taster’s Review:

When a tea has ‘fragrant’ in its name, you know you just have to smell it!  The dry leaf possesses a deliciously wonderful aroma.  I smell notes of cocoa!  Deep, rich, dark chocolate notes dominate, while hints of freshly baked bread linger in the background.  I can smell a malty tone, as well as notes of caramel.  It smells so sweet and rich.  The fragrance of the brewed tea is much softer when compared to the dry leaf, but, it is still very alluring.  So much so that it beckons me to take a sip!

Wow … so good.  This is the Keemun I’d recommend to someone who usually finds Keemun to be on the smoky side, because while there are some whispers of smoke in the distance, they are such distant notes that they’re barely distinguishable.  This tea focuses on the sweeter side of Keemun with pronounced notes of cocoa, malt, and caramel.

It is also a milder Keemun.  Many Keemun teas are very invigorating and have a hefty, almost rugged kind of flavor and texture … a good amount of gusto.  And while this Keemun is indeed invigorating in its own way, it doesn’t have that same robust boldness that other Keemun teas that I’ve tasted possess.  That is not to say that this tea lacks anything in terms of flavor, because this tea is incredibly full flavored.

Instead, I would say that this tea, while stern in its own way, takes the softer, “nice cop” approach.  It tempts the drinker with its sweet, delicious notes of chocolate and warm, freshly baked bread.  It entices the drinker with its luscious caramel tones and envelops you in the delicious complexity.  Rather than strong-arming the drinker to an alert state of mind, it lulls the drinker into a sense of attentive consciousness.  It’s really quite lovely!

Tasters Review:

When I was young…I had a Great Aunt Francis.  I remember my mother, sister, and I visiting her often.  Every time we stopped by Aunt Francis would ask me if I wanted a FRESH PLUM.  I almost always said YES.  While we visited with her there I sat with my plum and black tea enjoying every minute of it!

This Plum flavored black tea sure does bring me back to the Aunt Francis visits!  This tea is awesomely juicy…fragrant, sweet, fruity but not tart – and VERY YUMMY!!!! It’s a nicely flavored black tea.  I have yet to try it iced but I know it will be good!
