Francesca from Sicilian Tea Company. . . .

It’s always good to have a chamomile blend or two in your tea cabinet for those when you need something extra comforting and caffeine-free.  Francesca from Sicilian Tea Co. could be the perfect choice for your evening cup of tea.

Some people consider herbal teas to be medicinal, with herbs like lavender and chamomile to help combat stress.  Both of these fragrant blossoms are in abundance in this blend, bringing their lovely color and shape to the dry leaf, and the lemony and floral scent of the brew.

There are also cinnamon sticks, Saint John’s Wort, and licorice root in this blend.  The cinnamon adds just a hint of spicy warmth, rekindling thoughts of spiced baked goods.  A touch of licorice root adds smooth sweetness to the brew.  As an added bonus, licorice root can help soothe a scratchy throat, so the ingredient helps make the brew extra restorative.

I’m not sure that Saint John’s Wort adds much flavor, but the herb is rumored to help heal against depression.  I’m not sure if I felt those effects or not; brewing a cup of tea is always my happy place, and helps me out of a dark mood.

This tea is all herbs and blossoms, so it’s completely caffeine-free and full of natural flavors.  If the licorice root isn’t sweet or soothing enough, it wouldn’t hurt to add a dollop of honey to your mug for a little extra sugar.  After brewing a cup of Francesca blend, there’s not much left to do but sit back, relax, and have a sip of tea.

Roasted Dandelion Root from Traditional Medicinals. . . . .

I have been drinking Yogi teas spiced dandelion tea and really enjoying it. I decided to give this roasted dandelion tea a try. I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t enjoy it without the spicy flavor. I had no reason to worry, this tea is really delicious on it’s own. It has a delicious roasted, nutty flavor with just a slight bitterness. As a former coffee drinker, this tea kind of fills that void. It has a little more depth than other teas and kind of reminds me of coffee. But it is caffeine free, so it can be enjoyed at any time of the day.

Dandelion tea is so good for you. It helps detox the liver, and it is really good for digestion. I have noticed a big improvement with my digestion since I started drinking it. I try to get in one to two cups a day when possible.

If you were or are a coffee lover, I imagine you would really enjoy this tea. I think the key to cutting out a lot of the bitterness from the dandelion is roasting it. It tempers the bitterness and just gives it a delicious nutty taste. I have mine with a little bit of sugar and lately I’ve been using a vegan hazelnut creamer which compliments the nuttiness so well. I especially enjoy this tea when I’m dreaming of coffee and wishing I hadn’t given it up.

I’m really glad I’ve been expanding my tea collection. I used to only drink green tea, and making the decision to cut back on my caffeine consumption has really made me get brave and experiment and I am so happy, and my body is too!

Turmeric Lemon Ginger from Yerba Buena Tea Co. . . . .

I try to incorporate turmeric in my diet everyday for all of the amazing health benefits, so I was so happy to try this tea. And in my opinion ginger makes everything better so I had a feeling I would love this blend.

The first thing I noticed is the beautiful yellow color right away. They aren’t shy with the turmeric. As soon as i poured the hot water over the tea, I got the most wonderful smell. I could smell the lemon and the ginger and it was very soothing. This blend also has lemongrass and whole black peppercorns which are two of my favorite ingredients in tea.

This is an herbal blend, so no caffeine, but yet i still felt energized and uplifted from it.It also has licorice root which I don’t always love in teas, but luckily for me I couldn’t really taste it. Everything balanced out, and it just tastes like a lovely cup of lemon ginger tea with a little something extra.

I usually start my day with a caffeinated tea like green or yerba mate, but yesterday I started my day with this, and i didn’t feel like I needed caffeine at all! As someone who has relied on caffeine for MANY years, that is quite the feat!

Turmeric is so good for the body it’s nice to have it in such a delicious and uplifting way. This is definitely one of my new favorite teas, and I can’t recommend it enough!
