Presidential Peach from Impeach Teas

Presidential Peach from Impeach Teas is a classic ceylon black tea with peach flavor and flower petals.  The bright ceylon tea is well-suited for sunny fruit flavors, and adds a touch of starchy baked goods beneath all the juicy peach taste.

This tea seems well-suited for classic presidents of history who have beautiful estates in areas like Virginia.  The peach and black tea are the essential summer sweet tea flavor combination. While it is comforting as a warm brew, it will be perfect as a cold brew for sipping on a wide verandah and taking in the summer weather.

With a name like Impeach Teas it is clear that this tea company isn’t afraid of being a involved in social matters.  Their website describes them as preaching social responsibility, and says that a portion of each sale goes towards a worthy cause.

So brew your Impeach Tea in peace knowing that you’re doing good in your cup and in the world.

Cripple Creek from Swallowtail Tea. . . .

The package for Cripple Creek black tea from Swallowtail Tea (the same makers as Red Rooster Coffee) features a picture of iced tea with slices of oranges and a swallowtail butterfly perched on the rim.  The label was so enticing on this warm day, that I had to give this new tea try.

This is a Ceylon tea.  Usually I associate a mouth-puckering sharpness with Ceylon teas, but Cripple Creek is surprisingly smooth and mellow.  There is still a brightness to the tea, just a wisp of citrus or fig, but the focus of the flavor is much more malty, and almost toffee-like.

This reminds me of some of my favorite breakfast black tea blends from other suppliers.  It is robust without being too earthy or smoky, and tart without being bitter. Cripple Creek is well-balanced and serves you well for a hot breakfast cup or a traditional iced pitcher.  Besides, the label is so pretty, I’d want a tin on my shelf just to show it off.

Hibiscus Twist from The Cozy Leaf. . . .

I know I’m not the BEST person to blog about a tea called Hibiscus Twist. That’s because I’m not the biggest fan of the flower. But when I read the other ingredients of this herbal offering from The Cozy Leaf – I thought I would give it a whirl.

Officially described on The Cozy Leaf website as an Artisan Loose Leaf Herbal Tea (Caffeine Free) – Organic – offering – the flavor of this is tangy-tart and fruity with a delicate touch of spearmint. I will not tell a lie…the spearmint is what drew me in.

As the loose contents steeps a beautiful crimson color fills the cup!

I do prefer this offering ICED over the hot cuppa option but each person is different and this is one of those herbals that can easily please the masses!

Wildest Mints from Story of My Tea. . . .

Sometimes I can’t believe I haven’t tried a combination of some simple, favorite ingredients.  Wildest Mints from the Story of My Tea blends peppermint, clove, and licorice into an herbal brew.  Three simple, flavorful ingredients, no added flavoring, no caffeine. Wildest Mints is a great herbal blend to keep in your cabinet for soothing mint with little something extra.

Story of My Tea recommends this brew be iced.  Drinking it cold enhances the already refreshing rush of brewed peppermint and is just the right flavor for an especially hot day.  The licorice and cloves add some herbal sweetness and bring more texture to the feeling of this tea on your tongue and throat.

I also like this as a hot brew, maybe as an after dinner cup with plenty of peppermint to help with digestion.  When warm, the peppermint brings a little creaminess to the cup along with its familiar cool, crispness. The cloves are more prominent in a warm brew, and I adore their dark and spicy aftertaste and buzzy mouthfeel.  As always, the licorice is sweet and soothing.

Who knew there could be so much going on with just three classic ingredients?  Story of My Tea clearly did!

Here’s the scoop!

Leaf Type: Herbal
Where to Buy: Story of My Tea
Description:

The main ingredient of this calming blend is peppermint, this herb has several millennia of history. There are records that show Peppermint was used by the ancient Egyptians around 1,000 B.C. The Romans grew peppermint gardens for its use as a digestive aid they also used it as a grown cover between the stepping stone pathways. The Japanese valued it so highly that they carried peppermint in small silver boxes that hung from their belt. Peppermint was first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753 as a hybrid between water mint and spearmint. Today this plant is cultivated in many regions of the world.

The second ingredient is licorice root, a plant native to southeast Europe and southwest Asia. It brings a natural sweetness to this blend and is valued by both eastern and western medicine for its anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and “harmonizing” properties.
Finally, the cloves. These aromatic dried flower buds used in Asian, African, Mexican, Near and Middle East cuisine add just the right spice balance to this blend.

Tropical Fruit from Storehouse Tea. . . .

Confession: I’ve written two reviews for this tea. The first review was written longhand in my journal after a party where I made a few non-tea-beverage tactical errors. It said:

“This tea tastes like what’d it be like to receive a Care Bear Stare.”

The rest of it is, basically, incomprehensible, mostly in terms of handwriting. So I’m writing it again.

“Tropical Fruit” ‘s ingredients include organic orange peel, organic apple, organic rose petals, organic calendula, and natural fruit flavors. Apples, oranges, and flowers aren’t really all that tropical, but the result is still sweet and fun anyway. It tastes like very vivid pastels might taste. I’d probably qualify this taste as more of a “spring” than a “summer” (as the tropics might be), but the accuracy of title-to-flavor isn’t one of my major sticking points.

I’ve drank both of these samples iced. It seems fitting to enjoy the tropics with a cool beverage at your hand.

Cold temperatures also seem to bring out the sweetness in a tea, which I especially enjoy doing with rooibos. It brings out a velvety, vanilla-like quality that makes everything taste like a wash of ice cream.

Or, you know, the Care Bear Stare.
