Mint Lemonade Organic Green Tea from Fraser Tea. . . .

Fraser Tea was one of my favorite “new to me” tea companies from 2017.  I instantly fell in love with their teas and loved the selection they have to pick from.  A few orders later, I’m still enjoying their teas almost on a daily basis.

Mint Lemonade Organic Green Tea is a unique blend of green tea, spearmint, turmeric, and other organic ingredients.  I can’t say I’ve seen another offering like this one for a green flavored mint lemonade tea.  So this pretty much was a “I have to have this now” sort of tea.

Brewed up with water around 190F and allowed to steep for 4 minutes, this tea definitely strives to be a mint green tea with a lemon and herbal twist.  Smooth, refreshing, and completely addictive.    The green tea, lemon, and mint flavors come across in this wonderful melody.  As much as I enjoyed the tea, with the long list of ingredients this tea blend contains, I had this feeling that cold brewing this bad boy would be the way to go.

Cold brewed over night, this tea is sensational! Fresh pops of lemon really come across with this minty green tea base.  You get this almost herbaceous and spicy hint here and there that really elevated this tea.  Sunshine in a glass for sure!

If you haven’t taken a look at all that Fraser Tea has to offer, take a moment and check them out.  So far I have been super impressed with the teas I’ve picked up.  I have to drink down my tea stash a bit but as soon as I do, Fraser Tea will be getting another order from me.

Mint To Be Together from For Tea’s Sake

At first glance, this tea sounds stellar-a combo of different mints and lemon peel.  Sounds refreshing and so inviting. When I opened the pouch, I was greeted with a fresh feel to the tea.

For Tea’s Sake is one that I stumbled upon after lunch with my parents at a neighboring town. I couldn’t resist grabbing 4 different kinds of their loose leaf tea to try.

Brewed up with fresh water at 212F and allowed to steep for 5 minutes, I poured myself a generous cuppa to enjoy. Unfortunately, first sip in, I knew this tea wasn’t for me. The lemon and mint didn’t play very well. Since I wasn’t in love with what I had, I thought I would try a nice cold brew.

So I scooped what I had remaining of this tea into a pitcher and allowed the tea to sit overnight. I have to say this way of brewing the tea yielded a better flavor but I just don’t think this is a tea cut out for me.

Final Thoughts? The lemon was present and quite lovely but I just didn’t like the combo of the mint with the lemon. It was almost like the mint either needed to be pulled back a bit or more lemon peel added in. This tea (for me) seems to be sort of confused. Regardless, I appreciate the effort. I would try this tea again in a heart beat just to try adding in another spoonful or maybe even cold brewing for another day or two. Or maybe even add in strawberries or raspberries. That may be the ticket.

Just one of those blends that needs a bit of experimenting!

BREWING INSTRUCTIONS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Use 1 teaspoon per cup.
There are many ways to use loose leaf tea.
1. In a teaball
2. In a french press
3. In a pot and use a hand strainer when pouring into cup
4. In a loose leaf tea bag
5. Pour over a coffee filter. The only mission is to strain the leaf from the water before serving. It’s that simple!
Rooibos is a hardy leaf and is usually brewed in a full boil, however, due to the herbs in this blend, it is best brewed about 190-200 degrees. Depending on strength desired, you can steep anywhere from a few seconds to a couple mins. Rooibos is naturally sweet and usually does not need sweetener. However, Rooibos is excellent with milk, cream and a little honey!
Tasters Review:
Yesterday I tried LEMONADE from Jar of Tea and LOVED it.
I know I am getting straight to the point with this review and not building up to my conclusion like I usually try to do but this Flavored Green Rooibos gets straight to the point as well – so it’s only fitting.
If you like LEMON you will like this tisane.  If you like LEMONADE please TRY this flavored green rooibos!
The green rooibos background seems to fit the bill with the other lemony flavors here and it makes for an awesomely sweet lemonade taste.  I’m sure this would be wonderful iced but let’s just say it didn’t make it that far.  It was so yummy it didn’t stay in the cup long.
I will say I LOVE the way the way the jars and labels are decorated from Jar of Tea (even if some tea lovers argue glass isn’t their preferred way of storing or the safest long term storage method).  But if you are a fan of different label and packaging or giving as a gift or have a cool/dry/dark place to display this jar – or if you are like me and don’t think it will last very long on your shelf because it’s so darned yummy you can’t resist it – you are going to want to check this one out!
Jar of Tea’s website is lovely and their customer service is top-notch!  They have a creative selection of tea and tisanes and for that I am truly thankful.
