Jasmine Pecan Shortbread from A Quarter To Tea. . . .

I know Jasmine Pecan Shortbread is one of those teas that the name just intrigues you right off the bat and if its coming from A Quarter To Tea. . well than I’m really intrigued!

A Quarter To Tea offers unique hand blended small batch flavored teas that are simply brilliant. I’ve ordered my fair share of A Quarter To Teas and have never been disappointed. So I knew when I took a gamble on this particular blend, it would deliver.

And it did!

Let’s start with the buttery smooth green tea base that has a lovely jasmine flavor that doesn’t overwhelm but is noticeable. The pecan notes are the true  star of the show. That flavor really brings home the pecan shortbread in the title of this tea.

You wouldn’t think those flavors would work together but they really do. Each sip you are presented with this sweet, nutty, and slightly floral flavor that delivers a truly unique and addicting flavor. There is even a slight vanilla and almost custard flavor as well.

Just delicious and giving me that sweet flavor I need without reaching for the candy bowl. Really lovely and I can’t seem to get enough of that nutty finish. This one is still available and one that I see using some of my Christmas money to get more of.

Taster’s Review:

Oh Geeky Teas! How I love and adore you!

Geeky Teas is the perfect amount of fandom sprinkled into your tea. I have always said this but there is something so very satisfying about drinking a tea dedicated to your fandom. Just makes you love the tea even more!

This particular tea is based off of Ash, my first love when it comes to my love for horror  movies. Bruce Campbell is my favorite actor and the Evil Dead series are among my favorite movies, so of course a tea dedicated to these loves, I would be all over.

This tea is a lovely tightly rolled gunpowder that once you add your water and allow the tea to brew, the teas uncurl and dance in the water providing you with an amazing brew.  Brewed up with water at 180F and allowed to steep for about 2 minutes, this tea was just fun to sit and watch.

Finally it was time to try the tea and oh, yes. This tea is exactly how it showed me. Strong, to the point, with that whole mouth feel.  This tea really delivers a gorgeous flavor that has a slightly nutty yet slightly smoked flavor that is so satisfying with a touch of astringency coming about.  So smooth and well balanced! One of those teas that make you sit back and really indulge yourself in the tea. Or a tea that will get you prepped and ready to take on the day.

I am just loving it and can’t wait to try this tea as a cold brew or an iced tea mixed with some fruit. I bet the flavor combinations will be amazing!

If there was ever a tea to represent my beloved Ash, this would be it!

Taster’s Review:

Today is one of those rainy days where you just want to lock yourself up in your house, curl up with a blanket, brew up some favorite tea and binge watch your favorite show.  Just a day where you really just want to relax. I didn’t exactly do that but at least I was able to brew up some tea that I hadn’t experienced yet.

This particular tea is from Canton Tea Co., a tea company that always delivers wonderful flavors. I can’t remember having a negative experience with their teas yet. And I have to say, this tea delivered every note it promised in the description.

Brewed up by the package instructions, I allowed this tea to steep about 2 minutes before taking my first sip. When I did I was greeted with this gorgeous full bodied beauty with hints of fruity sweetness and an almost nutty goodness.  The sweetness is hard to really identify or compare it to. It is an overall sweetness that I am getting and I could say the same for the nuttiness.   So well balanced and the flavors mingled so well together that it was hard sometimes to pick them out because of how smooth the tea was. That is definitely one word to describe this tea-smooth. Smooth and well balanced. This is one of those teas you keep around the house to drink whenever you need a tea that won’t let you down. This tea delivers a gorgeous flavor. That is for sure!

Taster’s Review:

I adore Simpson & Vail.  They are a great company.  Fantastic customer service and a great line of teas, you really want for nothing when you shop with them.  I was fortunate to be able to review some of their holiday teas and this one I’ve been quite excited about.  Almonds, chocolate, vanilla bean, orange blossoms. . This tea just sounds like a festive sweet treat!

I brewed this up at work with water I prepped at 212F and allowed the tea to steep for about 3 minutes.  This is a black tea and I wasn’t sure how forgiving the tea would be if I oversteeped.  I didn’t want to ruin any of this holiday goodness!

After three minutes, my entire desk had this wonderful aroma of chocolate.  Yum! I’m not a huge chocolate fan but even this tea was getting my attention.  Like all other Simpson & Vail teas, this tea doesn’t disappoint!

In each sip, you can taste all the different flavors.  The nuttiness, the citrus twist, the sweet creamy vanilla, and the rich lush chocolate.  All in one sip.  The flavors mingle so well together and really give you a tea that makes you sit back and saw “Wow”.  I think my favorite part of this tea is the black tea base that creates a smoothness that all the other flavors can play off nicely. This tea would for sure make an amazing latte so I’m keeping the remainder of my sample to do just that later tonight.

If you are a fan of chocolate teas, check this one out.  It even impressed a non chocolate eater like myself!
