Organic Genmai Matcha green tea powder is the combination of finely ground organic whole leaf Sencha tea leaves, organic Genmai (toasted brown rice) and organic Matcha (high-quality tea leaf powder). It has the same outstanding taste as our Organic Genmai Matcha loose leaf tea. Organic Genmai Matcha green tea powder has been produced according to the strict guidelines of the JAS (Japan Agricultural Standard) and is certified organic.

  • 40 grams (1.4 ounces)
  • Makes 40 100 ml servings of tea
  • Instructions: Add approximately one gram of powder to 100 ml of water and stir. A measuring spoon is included.

Please Note: Organic Genmai Matcha green tea powder dissolves immediately in hot or cold water with very light stirring. In cold water you may notice small beads of undissolved powder at the top, which are not bitter tasting and very healthy. If not consumed right away, some of the powder will settle to the bottom or your cup, so simply stir again if desired.

The very first time I tried this terrific matcha – I immediately thought of Veggie Booty.  What IS Veggie Booty?  It’s only the BEST puffed rice/corn you’ll ever taste in your life!

  • Baked puffed rice & corn
  • Spinach, kale, broccoli, cabbage, parsley

In a nutshell these are the things that make Veggie Booty great!  To find out more about Veggie Booty go here.  As for how this all connects to this specific tea…here goes!  This matcha smells like veggies and popcorn.  The aroma and the taste BOTH remind me of Veggie Booty…one of my all-time favorite snacks!  Now…if you are looking at the ingredients and comparison and scratching your head – don’t knock it – ’til you try it!  Just think buttery popcorn and veggies – more specifically leafy greens.  Add a smooth finish and aftertaste and there you have it!  Organic Ganmai Matcha Powder!  This really is a wonderful tasting matcha!

Tasters Review:

I have never had premium Sencha of quality in a bag like this before!   I mean, it’s really good quality, and it’s very fine, but it’s in a bag and puffs out like nothing I have ever seen!  It even has a loose leaf type look to it once steeped…you know with that powdery texture to it.  This truly IS in a class of it’s own and it very much intrigues me!

The taste is good…a nice sturdy green tea and I’m amazed this was a bagged version!  There is a bit of a grassy aftertaste – but nothing I can’t handle…I DO like it and think it’s very nice!  Very convenient – perfect for on-the-go!

Kukicha Tea from shizuokatea.com

Tea Type: Green Tea

Where To Buy: shizuokatea.com

Product Description:

KUKICHA, TEA LEAF STEMS
JAPANESE LANGUAGE PACKAGING

Price: $12.00
The stems for our Kukicha come from premium quality tea leaves picked in the early spring, which are then deep steamed. This results in a very light, refreshing Japanese green tea that tastes slightly sweet and vegetal. Kukicha hardly ever tastes bitter even when brewed more than once. Its caffeine content is lower than most other green teas.

  • 100 grams (3.5 ounces)
  • Makes approximately 45 to 50 servings of tea

Tasters Review:

In the past week I have been sampling many teas from shizuokatea.com…and let me tell you I am impressed!  Clean!  Crisp!  Great quality!  Classy packaging and labels!  Very nice!

As for this specific tea…Kukicha Tea, that is, here are my findings…

The dry stem – loose – prior to infusion smells incredible!  It’s powerful and very green in every way with a vegetal yet springy and very fresh smell!

After infusion is complete it smells like veggies as well but the roasted aroma decreases a bit.

The flavor is full and smooth.  As far from ever being bitter than you could ever get….which leads me to believe this is a forgiving tea if over infused altho I haven’t put that to the test, personally, yet.   This is very clean and brothy.

This is in a different category than most Greens I have tasted…this is high quality and a pure delight!  I like this VERY MUCH!
