Turmeric & Spice Black Tea from Steeped Tea. . . .

Turmeric. It’s starting to become a game here at SororiTea Sisters. If we see a Turmeric Tea – we have to get our hands on it – and try it! At least a few of the SororiTea Sisters are a bit more than obsesses with Turmeric lately and if you are, too, then you might get a kick out of this tea from Steeped Tea. Turmeric & Spice Black Tea from Steeped Tea, that is.

With a name like Turmeric & Spice Black Tea – of course you could assume it would have black tea and turmeric and you would be right. Other ingredients include orange peel, ginger bits, pink peppercorns, coriander, cardamom, chili loops, and marigold blossoms. I will say that the ginger bits do have a gentle dusting of sugar on them.

This is a very spicy flavored black tea. If you are into Chai Tea you will most likely enjoy this tea! The peppercorns are plentiful but so are the other spices. The spice is a combo of peppery-spice and herbal-spice. The addition of the orange peel is more of a back-up singer to the spices but I can’t imagine this flavored black tea with out that bit of citrus! It really takes it to the next level for me! It doesn’t have as much turmeric as other teas I have tried but it is sprinkled in there nicely among the other loose leaf ingredients.

1 teaspoon at 2 or 3 minutes is all you need here, folks! If you are ready for an eye-opening turmeric tea experience – try Turmeric & Spice from Steeped Tea! It’s a goodie!

French Toast Oolong Tea from Steeped Tea. . . .

I’ve totally been into French Toast Flavored Teas lately and there are some really wonderful ones out there for a bunch of different reasons. Today I would like to share French Toast Oolong from Steeped Tea!

Of course it has Oolong Tea as the base – you can tell that by looking at the name – but to look at the Oolong used – dry and prior to infusing – it is one of the darkest dry Oolong I have seen so far!

After you move along to the other ingredients you will notice this tea has pineapple bits (that are coated in a little sugar), Coconut Chips, Lemon Wedges, Cranberries (that are coated in a little sugar and Sunflower Oil), Orange Peels, Rose Buds, Pomegranate Blossoms, Prickly Pear Blossoms, Vanilla, and flavors.

The blossoms are lovely and add a VERY little floral aftertaste to this. But the flavors that really shine are the Coconut Chips and various fruit ingredients. The fruits that have just that spec of sugar coating add a nice touch. And that’s just what it is – a nice touch – it’s not overly sugared. I was actually surprised with all the fruity ingredients that it wasn’t overly fruity to the tongue. But it was surprisingly buttery-sweet, nutty, savory, and creamy! Not any of the individual ingredients are overdone. EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING has just enough flavor to all mesh well with the other ingredients, too! YUM! This was a special treat!

I’ve tried other French Toast Flavored Teas that were more French Toasty but this one was a winner on it’s own. Not so much for the toastiness – not so much for the cinnamon – not so much for the buttered-bread-likeness of others – but for the ratios used and flavor combo that turned out to be something completely of its own.

I wouldn’t mind if this had a sprinkle of cinnamon in it but it’s completely fine without it, too! Well done!

Orange Date Cake from Steeped Tea. . . .

Orange Date Cake from Steeped Tea. Whit a name like that I knew I HAD to try it! Best part was it’s dairy and guilt free! It contains Date Bits which are made up of Dates and Rice Flour, Currants, Sunflower Oil, Orange Wedges, Cinnamon Bits, Fig Bits which are made up of Figs and Rice Flour, and flavors.

I was super excited that they used the Rice Flour as the ingredient for the cake likeness and not actual cake chunks that could contain dairy and/or eggs! And I was also stoked that they used Sunflower Oil for the anti-caking agent and clearly noted that on the bag!

Orange Date Cake from Steeped Tea was pretty fantastic! I have to admit I was completely blown away with the flavor of these natural ingredients! The Dates and Figs were so wonderfully sweet! The Orange was juicy-citrus at it’s best! The Cinnamon played an important part, too, and was hefty on it’s own. YUM!

This is a VERY LARGE and CHUNKY blend of ingredients. You can see everything without looking real close.

It has sweet and almost caramel-like notes to it in addition to a brown sugar flavor without it actually having any added sugars! Only the natural sugars from the dried fruits here, folks!

Yeah! Totally LOVING this Fruit Tea/Tisane. I don’t know if I have ever said that about a fruit based tea. This was a beautiful surprise!

I Dream of Macchiato Dream from Steeped Tea

I don’t discriminate when it comes to tea and coffee, I like them both, hot and iced, and I often find myself drinking one or the other depending on my mood.  I was very intrigued to try a rooibos tea with real coffee beans mixed in the dry leaf.  Visually, this blend is intriguing, with the fine red grains of rooibos mixed in with dark, roasted coffee beans and chunky cocoa shells.

The smell of this tea is amazing right from the start: there is the sharp, earthy, depth of roasted coffee beans, the sweet decadence of cocoa, and the bright vanilla nuttiness of the red rooibos.  Without even brewing a cup, this tea smells like a mocha dessert or java ice cream.

Brewed hot, the cocoa and coffee take over, completely masking the rooibos.  This can be a benefit– I’m not always in the mood for the particular taste of red rooibos, though its caffeine-free status is hard to beat.  The brewed tea has a smooth mouthfeel, warming and coating my throat, and the sweet flavors almost trick my tongue into thinking we’re having dessert instead of tea.
Even with the coffee beans, there’s not as much caffeine in this blend as other black teas or full-on coffee, so there is more flexibility as to when you can indulge in Macchiato Dream.  I’m not as ambitious as some SororiTea Sisters when it comes to building lattes, but I can already tell that this tea will be a winner when mixed with milk and sweetener.

An Cumin Interesting Blend from Steeped Tea. . . . . . #CuriousCumin

Curious Cumin? Curious Cumin! It’s all in the punctuation, folks! Either would work here! It’s Curious Cumin from Steeped Tea!

Curious Cumin is an Herbal Tisane that features Fennel, Anise, Cinnamon, Silver Lime Blossoms, Cumin, Turmeric, Goji Berries, Lemongrass, Rose Blossom Leaves, Peppermint Leaves, Pistachios, Pomegranate Blossoms, Cardamom, Sunflower Blossoms, Cornflower Blossoms, Safflowers, and flavors.

That’s a WHOLE LOTTA flavor, friends! Let me break it down for you!

The Fennel is lovely. I was sort of confused when I saw it was the first ingredient on the list of many. I assumed it would be a BUNCH of Fennel and then everything else. The Fennel flavor was in attendance and played well with others but it wasn’t the focal point of the whole song and dance.

The Anise and Cinnamon paired well together like it usually seems to. Again – it played a roll – but not the only roll.

The Lime Blossoms and Lemongrass provided a simple yet flavorful lemon-lime flavor – more on the floral side and not-so-much the puckery citrus side.

The Cumin and Turmeric join forces to come up with an unexplainable flavor to add to this already complex blend of flavors. And I’m glad they did!

The Cardamom and Pistachios are next up to bat! They add a little nuttiness and a little creaminess to the over all flavor – but not TOO much – just a spec of it!

Here is where the Peppermint comes into play, too! I thing it acts as a YIN and a YANG for the Cumin and Turmeric. It’s very subtle but plays an important yet slight cooling roll, here!

Then there are the rest of the blossoms, leaves, and flowers. Yup! Just enough floral flavor to keep you guessing!

Like I said this is layer after layer of flavor complexity and I really appreciate all that went into this blend of an herbal tisane. I have to say that it’s VERY tasty for an herbal tisane and VERY comforting. There are LOTS of great ingredients in there and I’m pretty darn impressed!
