Artist’s Review:

OK, I have to be honest, when it comes to art, I’m totally “old-school.”  Before today, I have never used digital stamps, so this is all very new to me.  I don’t know if I’m even using them right!  haha!

inside view of the card

That being said, it was a lot of fun – and SO EASY – to use these digital stamps from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff!  And now that I have gotten a taste for using digital stamps, I do think I am going to utilize them more in my art work.  It is a lot easier to keep them (no bulky wood blocks cluttering up the art studio!) and as long as I have ink in the printer, I’m good to go!

I printed these on pink vellum because I thought it would work best with my color scheme, and I adhered the vellum to the scrapbook paper using vellum tape.  I have learned from experience that you should definitely use vellum tape when you’re adhering vellum, unless you like that “tape can be seen through the vellum” look.

The scrapbook paper I used was from g-c-d studios (item #205 – Rose Circles) and I selected this particular pattern because it was a simple, small pattern that would work well with the teacup.  I felt that a more complicated design (or larger design) would have not been as adaptable to the teacup shaped card.

I am very happy with the way these turned out, and these “Tea-riffic” digital stamps are something that I can use again and again – not just for this particular occasion.  There are several very cute designs with this set too, not just the teabag tag and sentiment that I used.  There is even a Teabag holder with this set that I intend on using at some point in the future to send out teabags to friends.

I hope you’ll have as much fun with these as I did!

As far as Digital Stamps are concerned and how The SororiTEA Sisters are incorporating these and other Tea Related Crafts here on our website check out this post from last week.

I really like Priscilla Styles Digi Stamps because they have a nice selection of Tea and Coffee Related items.  HERE are two of them!  The one is what I used in my project above!  I decided to use that Digital Stamp for an Afternoon Tea Party Table Tent or Place Setting of sorts.  I also used one of her Sentiments.  I love using Digital Word Art or Sentiments because they look so much better than my handwriting (chicken-scratch!).  teahee.

I printed out her Digital Stamp on paper I was reusing – you can really use any paper – some crafters use watercolor paper or heavier card stock.  I use different things for different projects or sometimes just use what ever I have on hand.  I then colored in the image using Prisma Color Colored Pencils and Water Color Pencils.  In addition to Prisma Color I also have Reeves Water Color Pencils that I use from time to time.  I am getting more and more comfortable with both of these brands.

I usually use double sided tape or adhesive square to adhere my images to other paper surfaces…in this case more paper!  I used Cloud 9 Designs Paper for most of this project.

I manually folded the bottom in towards each other and taped those together to get this to stand up on its own.

I really like the vintage look of this Digital Stamp from Priscilla Styles.  I don’t really have too many Vintage Digi Stamps but I enjoyed working with it so I am sure I will be adding more to my collection soon.  It reminds me of my Grandmother’s Teacups and Saucers!!  Down the road I may share with you all the Teacup and Saucer that I have had since I was 5 when my Grandmother passed away.  It’s been in a safe place since then.  I treasure each item I have left to me by my Grandmother as she was VERY important to me!  Perhaps that is why I am enjoying Priscilla Styles Tea Related Digital Stamps so much!

If you are into Digi Stamps, Crafts, or TEA…you’ll HAVE to check out Priscilla’s Shop!  It’s a delight!

Product Review from TeaEqualsBliss:

Anne and I are not only into tea and writing we are both into arts and crafts.  A couple of weeks ago we were chatting about a few new features to SororiTEA Sisters and we decided to include Tea Related Art and Crafting Supplies and Outlets within our Product Reviews!

We felt there was a lack of joining the two interests – Tea and Arts/Crafts – online and on other Tea Review Sites so we decided since we try and include anything and everything TEA here at SororiTEA Sisters we would incorporate them here from time to time.

I have been a fan of the designers over at MyGraficO for quite some time!  I have been and are on a few design teams and can’t get enough of their Digital Stamps, Clip Art, Digital Papers, etc.  Lately I have noticed that MyGraficO has one of the better selections of Tea Related Digital Arts & Craft Components online.  This made me VERY HAPPY!

As you can see from the images above I decided to make a card from this set!  I make at least 3 Handmade Cards a week and I’m always looking for Tea Clipart and Digital Stamps to incorporate in my projects!  I have been getting into some hybrid and altered paper projects as well and I’m sure I will blog about that down the road.  There are some really neat things you can do with these sets!  I have made Tea Swap Envelopes, Packages, Storage Containers, Album Title Pages, Altered Boxes and Tins, the list goes on and on!

Anyways, I hope you like my first card.  And I hope you take a moment to visit MyGraficO!  There are TONS of things on that site!  The Designers are great and the shop owner is even a TEA FAN herself!

If you would like to read more about Digital Stamps – what they are – and how to use them – take a look at this article!
