Tea Care Packages/Brewed in Solace -variaTEA-

Brewed in Solace recently reached out to me via our Instagram asking me if I was interested in one of their Tea Care Packages. My answer was a very fast and excited, “YES!”

The package features a very simple but very pretty teacup and saucer. It is available in a bunch of colours including pink, blue, green, purple, yellow and white. When Brewed in Solace informed me I would get to pick which colour I wanted, I struggled because they are all beautiful. I ended up going with purple, and I am not disappointed.

That was not the only choice I was asked to make. The tea care package I was sent also came with a tea filter in either gold or silver, a candle that was either in fresh linen or lavender, and two different teas. Also, included was a candle label of anything I wanted and a personalized note. These options to personalize make the gift suitable for someone close to you, but it could also work for someone you aren’t as close with since the options are still general enough they should appeal to all!

As for the teas, they are fairly generic tea options. I went with Black Peach and Summer Rose. Nothing truly unique about either, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Today, I am enjoying the Black Peach tea and it is very smooth and with a distinct peach flavor. Basically what you would expect from a tea called Black Peach.

The package costs $65. Given that a teacup and saucer can easily be half that amount, if not more, I would say the price is fair. You get a whole lot of bang for your buck. In fact, the filter was one of the things I was most excited for since I tried to buy something similar and it was going to run me about $20 just for that.

What I really liked about this gift idea was that it was packaged with so much care and love. From the minute I opened the box that it was shipped in, I felt like I was being treated to a beautifully wrapped gift, complete with flowers to make it feel more fun and festive.

The company itself was wonderful to work with – very kind and accommodating. They kept me updated each step of the way, something I did not ask for but made the experience that much better.

So, if you didn’t gather it from this review, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Brewed in Solace for your tea gift needs if you are looking for something fun and a bit different for anyone on your list!

PRODUCT REVIEW: Floppy Latte Designs Tea Time Digital Stamps

Products:

Tea Time Digital Stamps

Designer:

Jessica Leigh Gill

Where to Buy:

Stitchy Bear Stamps

The stamps I used are available for purchase here and here

Artist’s Review:

I am creating an altered book for a friend, and for the first spread in the book, I used these two digital stamps from Floppy Latte Designs at Stitchy Bear Stamps.

To create my spread (you can get a sneak peek of it below), I first created my collage/mixed media background using patterned paper, vintage text, gesso, Golden Acrylic Paints and Lumiere paints … and a whole lot of layers!  Then I let it dry overnight.

I printed the two images onto vellum paper, and then I colored in the images using colored pencils.  Then I tore around the edges of the images, and adhered them to my dried background.  I then chose a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, and embellished with ribbon, fabric flowers, sequins and brads.

Not the best photo, sorry - but I assure you it looks much better in person.

It was a pretty simple collage, really, but I’m really happy with the way it turned out.  The photo doesn’t reveal how sparkly the collage really is (from the Lumiere paints).  I just hope that my friend that I’m sending this book to will enjoy the book as much as I am enjoying creating it… and how much I am enjoying using these digital stamps.  They add the perfect touch to my project, don’t you think?

PRODUCT REVIEW: Alice Patchwork from Tainted Sweets & MyGrafico

Designer:  Tainted Sweets

Where to Buy:  MyGrafico

Product Description:

Alice in Wonderland Patchwork!
Nine seperate 8×8 cute and colorful Alice in Wonderland squares!
Great for quilts, wall art, glass blocks and so much more!

Artist’s Review:

When I received this Alice Patchwork set created by Tainted Sweets, I was thrilled!  I love Alice in Wonderland, and this was such an adorable interpretation.

After giving it some thought, I knew just what I wanted to do!  I decided to make a greeting card set with them.  The graphics are large (8×8), so, I had to adjust the size on them.  I used the image of the Mad Hatter, The Dormouse, and the Teapot/Teacups for a set of three.

I printed the adjusted squares onto cardstock which I then cut out.  I ran my Krylon Gold Leafing pen around the edges of the square, and then I layered the square onto some coordinating scrapbook paper that I had on hand.  I used some foam mounting tape for the printed images to give the card a little dimension, and added a few rhinestones to each card for some sparkle.

These were a lot of fun to make, and I really like how they turned out.  I will be sending these out to some on-line Tea Friends, but, I think a full set (using all 9 images!) would make a great gift for someone special!

MyGrafico is a great website – loaded with tons of images.  Check them out for your next artsy project!

Product Review from TeaEqualsBliss:

Anne and I are not only into tea and writing we are both into arts and crafts.  A couple of weeks ago we were chatting about a few new features to SororiTEA Sisters and we decided to include Tea Related Art and Crafting Supplies and Outlets within our Product Reviews!

We felt there was a lack of joining the two interests – Tea and Arts/Crafts – online and on other Tea Review Sites so we decided since we try and include anything and everything TEA here at SororiTEA Sisters we would incorporate them here from time to time.

I have been a fan of the designers over at MyGraficO for quite some time!  I have been and are on a few design teams and can’t get enough of their Digital Stamps, Clip Art, Digital Papers, etc.  Lately I have noticed that MyGraficO has one of the better selections of Tea Related Digital Arts & Craft Components online.  This made me VERY HAPPY!

As you can see from the images above I decided to make a card from this set!  I make at least 3 Handmade Cards a week and I’m always looking for Tea Clipart and Digital Stamps to incorporate in my projects!  I have been getting into some hybrid and altered paper projects as well and I’m sure I will blog about that down the road.  There are some really neat things you can do with these sets!  I have made Tea Swap Envelopes, Packages, Storage Containers, Album Title Pages, Altered Boxes and Tins, the list goes on and on!

Anyways, I hope you like my first card.  And I hope you take a moment to visit MyGraficO!  There are TONS of things on that site!  The Designers are great and the shop owner is even a TEA FAN herself!
