Tahitian Vanilla from The Tea Can Company . . . . . .

Steeping this tea was the first time I steeped tea in a tea bag in like years! I always use loose leaf and I definitely contemplated pouring the leaves from the bag into my steeper but there wasn’t much to the sample so I decided against it. However, I was intrigued by the ingredient list: Oolong, rose petals, natural flavors (assuming vanilla flavor). I absolutely love anything with rose petals and pretty much anything that says vanilla!

The dry leaf of this smelled very yummy. I could smell the vanilla and rose mingling together with the oolong and it was very enticing. I plopped the tea bag into my cup and filled the cup with hot water and I let it steep for 5-7 minutes. I was not impressed with the tea bag situation and wish that I had cut it open and just used my usual steeper but whatever!

The smell of the steeped liquor was not as sweet as the dry leaf, but I could still smell that floral vanilla. This blend definitely needed my usual spoonful of agave to sweeten it up and bring out those flavors. Once it was steeped to my liking and I added the agave, I took a little sip. I was pleasantly surprised! Rose definitely is dominant here. This tea is floral with the aftertaste of sweet vanilla, which was definitely brought out by my addition of agave. Im not sure why, but I feel like a taste a little bit of citrus or fruit and that could be the oolong.

Here is how this tea makes me feel: I am sitting down at a cute little bed and breakfast inn. The dining room window overlooks the beach and I can see the waves crashing on the shore. I am surrounded at the table by other vacationers, snacking on danish and scrambled eggs. The smells of tea, coffee, and bacon intermingle with the fresh “beach air”. The teapot on the table catches my eye and I pour some into my cup, with the smell of sweet rose wafting up to my nose. I take a sip as I look around at the wallpapered inn walls and sit back, relaxed and in total tranquility!

Its safe to say I liked it! 🙂

Mint Twist Tea from The Tea Can Company

The Tea Can Company is a company that is fairly new-to-me and I have to say I am VERY pleased with all of their teas that I have been able to sample so far. Today I would like to share with you Mint Twist Tea from The Tea Can Company which is part of their Candy Shop Collection.

Mint Twist Tea from The Tea Can Company is a delightful mix of Green Tea and tasty Peppermint that can be enjoyed year-round and is perfect for any mint lover. Ingredients include Green Tea with Peppermint Leaves and Peppermint Flavor. I’m not sure how The Tea Can Company pulled this off but Mint Twist Tea tasted minty but almost creamy, too! If you LOVE mint like I do – or even HALF A MUCH as I do – I think you will totally DIG this tea!

The green tea is a medium strength sweeter green paired with minty-goodness. It is refreshing, clean, minty, a bit creamy, and a pure delight!

I’m wondering if they would be able to come out with a black tea version. I would love to see that. However I am really LOVING the green tea offering, too! This was also VERY NICE iced! YUM!

Vanilla Chai from The Tea Can Company. . . . .

I’ve been on a kick lately of sampling different flavored chais. Vanilla is one of them that has been in my top stash as of late. When I was sent Vanilla Chai from The Tea Can Company I was hoping I would find something tasty in my tea sipping experience and boy did I!

Vanilla Chai from The Tea Can Company has a Assam Black Tea base with Cardamom Seeds and natural Vanilla. It offers a sweet and delicious blend to any day but often served at traditional Indian Weddings. There’s a little bit of tea trivia tidbits for you to get you thru the day, eh?

The fact that there are only three ingredients in this loose leaf mix tucked inside a silken and see-thru bag blew my mind! The Assam base was a medium strength black tea. The Cardamom Seeds played an important part but weren’t a ‘ball hog’ either. The Vanilla flavor seemed to round everything out and made it both sweet and creamy at the same time. I really like that Vanilla Chai from The Tea Can Company offered sweet, spicy, creamy, and slightly malty notes, too!

Vanilla Chai from The Tea Can Company certainly warmed my heart and tummy while putting a smile on my face! Vanilla Chai from The Tea Can Company…I raise my tea cup to you!

Sugar Plum Tea from The Tea Can Company. . . . .

Sugar Plum Tea from The Tea Can Company smells AMAZING! Sugar and plums – folks! Sugar and plums! I could see a nice sized square chunk of fruit in the see-thru silken bag. Impressive!

Ceylon Black Tea, Stevia Leaves, Dried Strawberry, Mango, and Hibiscus are the ingredients to Sugar Plum Tea from The Tea Can Company. I must have located the mango when I was looking! I didn’t see much of the hibiscus which was totally fine by me!

As for the flavor once infused – I do have to say the Stevia was hepped-up! If you are sensitive to Stevia see if a friend could drink the first cup for you! Remember…tea between friends is ALWAYS a nice idea!

So…me being up front about the high level of Stevia flavor isn’t a slam just an observation. I’m not overly fond of Stevia but but I’m not against it either. I know of people who have ups and downs about the natural sweetener tho. Having said that…the 2nd infusion knocked down that intensity of Stevia quiet a bit and that may be more your speed. Either way – what I am saying is – that you have options, here! Sugar Plum Tea from The Tea Can Company is a diverse cuppa!

Other than the Stevia – the mango, strawberry, and hibiscus all seem to blend together to create a newly discovered flavor combo of its own! I’m VERY thankful it wasn’t all about the hibiscus here! Kudos for that! This trio of ingredients that make it’s own flavor and swim underneath the Stevia flavor makes for a super sweet, sugary, fruity cuppa!

had a hot cup and thought this was pretty good with the first infusion. The 2nd infusion was even better! And the cold version of this is even better than that! So after much contemplation I have decided this is a ‘good-better-best’ sipping situation and I’m VERY pleased I was able to sample Sugar Plum Tea from The Tea Can Company! It was certainly ‘sugar plum-esque’!

Lemon Drop Tea from The Tea Can Company. . . . .

My Grandfather ADORED Lemon Drop Candy! When I first saw Lemon Drop Tea from The Tea Can Company I couldn’t wait to try it! It’s part of their Candy Shop Collection. The labels for their Candy Shop Collection are adorable and nostalgic.

High elevation Ceylon Black Tea, Lemon Peel and Australian Lemon Myrtle? I’m THERE! The company says this tea has the mouthwatering taste of Lemon and the classic taste of Black Tea come together to create this delightful, sweet, low-calorie treat. Again…I’m THERE!

Well it certainly smells like Lemon Drop Candy with a bit of black tea! The aroma is gentle and flowing. Lemony-sweet! I closed my eyes in slow-motion as I sniffed this flavored black steeping in my cup!

After my first sip I was pretty pleased with my first impression of this tea. It’s not a powerful black tea base by any means but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t LOVE it! Because I did! The lemon peel and lemon myrtle worked great together – of course! I’m surprised at the candy-sweet yet citrus flavor this has only having 3 ingredients in it! The perfect case of ‘less is more’.

The lemon flavors aren’t puckery – per say – but more of a sugary-sweet and creamier lemon flavor. If you are familiar with Meyer Lemons that may just be what this is reminding me of! Meyer Lemons. Thus far…my favorite LEMON.

Regardless…Lemon Drop Tea from The Tea Can Company is absolutely wonderful! It reminds me of my grandfather and takes me back in time! A time when things were more simple and everyone appreciated the little things! YUM!
