Warm Fuzzy – Hand-blended tea from PaperBoxGoodies

Today’s blend, Warm Fuzzy, comes from Etsy shop PaperBoxGoodies. This teabag came with a cute tag and tea charm, helping remind me that each bag is hand-filled by the small Etsy shop.

Warm Fuzzy lives up to its name,  With fuzzy chamomile blossoms and green tea, this is a cozy, relaxing blend.  The grassy green notes pair easily with the floral, lemony chamomile.  For a tea with blend of herbal ingredients, this was gentle and sweet, definitely not bitter or medicine-like.  I think this blend is best with touch of honey to bring out the natural sweetness in the chamomile. I prefer teas with a bit more spice or boldness, but this is a kind, comforting brew for when you need to calm down and drink something nice-and-easy.

I don’t see Warm Fuzzy in stock on PaperBoxGoodies’ Etsy shop, but there are other intriguing flavors with names like Purple Snozberry, Bluesfest Green, or Passionmint Green.  After the quality of Warm Fuzzy, I look forward to trying other blends from PaperBoxGoodies.

Elevating Your Tea Game: Halloween Cozies from Linda’s Passion

Drinking tea is only half of the fun. Having a really unique tea accessory or mug is the other part of the tea drinking process. I can’t explain it but having the right mug in hand with a relaxing freshly steeped brew just really puts you in the right frame of mind.

halloweenteacozy2That is exactly how I feel about my amazing Halloween Tea Pot Cozy from Linda’s Passion, an Etsy shop.  I mean just look at how great my tea pot looks!

This particular tea pot cozy has wonderfully spooky fabric that is made to look like the outside of a haunted house, perfect for Halloween. Pack full of ghosts and spiders, this cozy really brings about that holiday feel to any tea party or just for yourself!

I’ve used this cozy so many times since receiving it and I have to say, I really enjoy having this additional accessory. Handmade, this cozy gives your tea pot that extra barrier to help keep your tea warm. It used to be that I would rarely make giant pots of tea by myself, but with this new cozy, I’ve found myself doing just that more and more. I just love it and will use it all year round, not just during October. I’m sort of a horror geek, so this fits perfectly.

Each cozy is lined with fleece-helping keep the tea or water warm for about an hour. I have to say this is pretty spot on.  All you do is basically just slip the cozy onto the tea pot and tighten the cording. That is it. Super easy to put on. I don’t own  a lot of larger tea pots and the one I do own is a funny shape. As you can see in the picture above, the cozy fits just fine on mine!

Linda’s Passion offers so many awesome Halloween designs, I mean just look! I’ve got my eye on a few of these. . .

Each handmade cozy comes with 4 adorable fabric coasters, which I find myself grabbing all the time. I’m always spilling a drip  here and there and its nice that I have these handy.    So many great cozies! I just need to buy more teapots to fit these adorable cozies!

Be sure to check out Linda’s Passion Etsy Shop. It’s full of these wonderful cozies and for all different seasons and designs. Like I said earlier, I’ve got my eye on several of them! Perfect for that gift giving season that is just around the corner.

On The Fifth Day of Christmas, Della Terra Teas Sent Me This Tea …

Today is the fifth day of yummy teas from Della Terra Teas.  I’ve really been enjoying this year’s countdown, and today’s tea is just entirely too yummy for words.  But, since you’re here to read a review, I’ll do my best to come up with some words to describe this confectionery delight.

Taster’s Review:

This Cozy Caramel Oolong from Della Terra Teas offers me two of my favorite tastes:  Oolong tea and caramel.  How could I resist?

Answer:  I can’t.  This is so yummy.

The Oolong tea is a darker Oolong, and it brings a sweet and toasted nut flavor to the cup.  The roasty-toasty notes accentuate the delectable notes of caramel perfectly.  I can taste a hint of burnt sugar like flavor in the background, and this elevates the caramel tones, giving them some dimension.

The Oolong has a rich, creamy texture but it isn’t overwhelming.  That is to say, it doesn’t inundate the palate with that sort of creaminess that might otherwise obscure the nuanced flavors of the caramel.  There is a lot of complexity to this cup, and you want to enjoy each and every layer of flavor!

When it come to Oolong teas, I generally prefer them to be “pure” or unadulterated with flavor because Oolong is such a flavorful experience on its own and no additional flavor is really necessary.  However, I have enjoyed many different flavored Oolong teas, and of those that I’ve enjoyed, I’d have to say that this might be one of the very best.

This should be a must try for those of you who love caramel, or the Oolong enthusiast who is looking for something just a little different!  This one resteeps really well too – the caramel flavor subdues somewhat, but the second infusion is still very flavorful!

Cozy Chamomile from Bigelow

Tea Information:

Leaf Type:  Herbal

Where to Buy:  Bigelow

Product Description:

As soothing as a field of daisies, Cozy Chamomile® Herbal Tea is a wonderful way to unwind and relax any time of day.

Ingredients:  chamomile flowers

Taster’s Review:

I’ve never made any secret of my apprehension when it comes to chamomile.  This hesitancy stems from the fact that I’ve encountered several chamomile teas that were nothing but pollen-like dust and, when brewed, the flavor is quite … gross.

Since those horrible encounters with chamomile, I have come to realize that not ALL chamomile tea tastes like that.  There are many chamomile teas are quite tasty, in fact, although I will admit that my preference for chamomile is still when it is blended with other ingredients and I am still rather hesitant when it comes to chamomile-only tisanes.  So, it should come as no surprise that it took months for me to finally muster up the courage to try this Cozy Chamomile from Bigelow.  I was certain… just CERTAIN that what I would be tasting would be a dusty, pollen-esque cup of chamomile.  Boy, was I wrong!

This is really quite delicious.  The chamomile in the tea bag is finely chopped (not whole flowers), BUT the tisane does not brew up to a murky consistency (indicative of the dusty chamomile I mentioned earlier), and, even more importantly, it doesn’t taste like the dusty chamomile that horrified me some years ago.

The flavor is light and apple-sweet.  It has such a tranquil taste to it – gentle and soothing.  It’s kind of like a lullaby!  I find I prefer the tisane with a little drizzle of honey or agave nectar to bring out the apple tones to the chamomile.

I have often spoken out against tea bags, but, Bigelow is a company that never ceases to impress me!  Yes, IMPRESS me!  I find myself expecting very little from them because it is a bagged tea, but, every time I’ve tasted one of their teas, I’ve not only had my expectations surpassed, but I end up becoming quite fond of the tea that I’ve tasted from them.  This tisane is no exception to that.

This is really good.
