Organic Mint Cocoa Pu-Erh from Full Leaf Tea Company. . . . .

Organic Mint Cocoa Pu-Erh from Full Leaf Tea Company is pretty impressive! I’ll just come right out and say it! It’s impressive because it’s a delightfully done flavored Pu-Erh which can sometimes go well or go terribly wrong. Thankfully in this case Organic Mint Cocoa Pu-Erh from Full Leaf Tea Company was a tasty winner!

I always like to give THUMBS UP to the organic teas but one that is cocoa AND mint flavored? Yes, please! It has just the right amount of BOTH cocoa AND mint! The mint they used in this was spearmint. Great choice on the blenders part!

All of the ingredients are defined not only to the eye but the nose and tongue, too! Mint Chocolate Pu-Erh! Yeah, Buddy! The Pu-Erh base has a strong earthy flavor to it. The Mint and Cocao Nibs are just like you think they would be.

This is a GREAT flavored Pu-Erh that I would recommend to those who enjoy mint, chocolate, and/or mint chocolate. A nice treat without the ‘cheat ingredients’. It’s also naturally dairy-free! YAY!

Wake Up Juice from Geeky Teas

Good morning, Tea Buddies! I write to you with enthusiasm from the caffeine in Geeky Teas’ “Wake Up Juice,” which absolutely lives up to its moniker.

The taste is a malty citrus spice. Malt isn’t my usual jam, but this works really well. I am surprised at how much I like this. It’s a well-rounded, energizing mix.

This tea is the perfect fall pick. I am definitely one who savors oversized sweaters, leggings, boots, a novel, and a tall travel cup of hot tea. I love the rich blazes of tumbling leaves. I can imagine drinking this over a campfire, if only I were the sort of person who liked to camp.

(Do you ever have visions of an Idealized Self who likes all those things you don’t actually like? My Idealized Self bikes to work and climbs Mt Fiji. She doesn’t get stressed out by cities. She knows where her blow-dryer is, and actually uses it. Her nails are lovely.)

ANYWAY, Geeky Teas has a LOT of teas I’m probably going to someday try. The descriptions and doodles are hilarious in-jokes for geeks. TAKE MY MONEY. Apparently there’s a physical PLACE you can GO to see these people in person and play board games, but they’re in Cali and I’m in Pennsylvania. It’s now on my bucket list.

Taster’s Review:

Pu erh is a tea that scares and intimidates me. I never know how to correctly prepare it or if I’m even drinking it right. I’ve tried to learn but this is one tea I want to actually sit down and learn from more of an expert. But regardless, I thought I would try my hand at a flavored Pu erh from Geeky Teas.

I’ve tried flavored Pu erhs in the past and they didn’t turn out right. So I thought I would give it another go.  This Pu erh blend combines strawberries, cocoa nibs, hazelnut, vanilla, and creme flavor.  A combination I would typically shy away from anyway since I’m not a fan of hazelnut.  But this is a Geeky Tea blend and I’m determined to try all of their amazingly fun blends.

Right off the bat, this tea smelled almost sinful. A decadent blend for sure. The dry leaf mix had a lovely chocolate covered strawberry note with hints of hazelnuts.  I prepared this up like I would a black tea-212F and steeped for about 4 minutes.  4 minutes later, I poured the tea into my cuppa and allowed it to cool for just a moment.

I have to say, this tea was fantastic and delicious.  I was incredibly hesitant to try this tea because I thought it would be an instant pour out but it was the complete opposite! The tea had a lovely dark rich and like the dry leaf mix-sinful feel to it.  Bright strawberry flavor with a rich chocolate and hints of hazelnuts, vanilla and creme surrounded each and every sip.  I am not a chocolate fan nor a hazelnut fan and I can’t get enough of this tea.  I have had several sessions with this tea and each sip is as good as the last.  This is one of those teas you enjoy when you’ve got a sweet tooth that needs satisfying and you don’t want the calories.  Plus this tea is dedicated to The Never Ending Story. . I mean it doesn’t get much better!!

Tasters Review:

This smells AWESOME for a pu-erh!  Tropical but not fake!  Almost Champagne-like, too!

It has a really neat semi-cloudy/texture-type amber color to it.

The aroma magnifies after infusion is complete! It still smells wonderful! Very tropical, airy, fruity, fresh!

WOW! Now this is a flavor I could see myself drinking more and more of! It’s a lovely flavored pu-erh! Very unique and creative! Juicy! With just a hint of woodsy-puerh to it.

It lingers with a smoother tropical fruit flavor that is very satisfying.

Above all else…a VERY nicely flavor pu-erh!  I would certainly put this in my mid 90s of favorite pu-erhs thus far!
