Moroccan Mint Teabags from Simpson and Vail. . .

Simpson and Vail is one of those hidden gems on the internet when it comes to tea.  One of my favorite tea companies online, Simpson and Vail offer amazing customer service, a fabulous line of teas, and the satisfying thought that you are supporting a mom and pop family tea shop.

What Simpson and Vail do best is offer their customers a vast array of teas and their new line of iced tea bags is no exception.  Being a huge fan of mint teas, their new Moroccan Mint Iced Tea bag had my name written all over it.

Cold brewed over night, this iced tea was absolute perfection.  Fresh minty goodness combined with that familiar crisp green tea flavor greeted my taste buds.  And not just any mint, but spearmint.  I eagerly gulped this iced tea down today.

You really can’t go wrong with a mint green tea, at least for this green tea loving gal you can’t. And add in the added convenience factor of this tea being ready to go in a convenient iced tea bag that I can add into my pitcher at night, fill with water, and in the morning I am greeted with this amazing iced green tea to keep me going through out my day. . . I am just sold and in love!

Moroccan Mint Iced Tea is just one of the new flavors Simpson and Vail has added to their awesome lineup.  I’m excited to check out more of these great iced teas flavors.  I wish there was a variety pack of all the different iced tea flavors but I’ll just have to try them one at a time. . .

Charge from Wild Leaf Active Teas. . . . .

Around 2pm is when I’m grabbing for something to keep me going for a few more hours.  This little ditty has been saving me from grabbing a sugary snack for the past week and I am completely in love with it.

Wild Leaf Active Teas offers a line of teas with a healthy thought behind each tea.  I regularly drink their Slim tea in the mornings and adore that rich jammy earthy flavor.  I’ve found in the mornings that I do have more energy but I do drink a few servings of this tea before hitting the road in the morning. I can’t say I’ve noticed any other side effects but I drink this tea more for the flavor and the energy, not so much the weight loss or boosted metabolism.

So this last time when my subscription was about to be shipped out, I emailed Wild Leaf Active Teas  and asked if I could add in a tin of their Charge tea.  Their Charge tea is a conventionally arranged eye opening  tea bag full of green tea, yerba mate, and mint.

Brewed up hot, this tea provides a refreshingly energetic way to get rid of those 2pm heavy eyelids that I seem to get.  The flavors mingle so well.  Earthy yerba mate combined with a buttery green tea that as a slight vegetal feel with a cooling refreshing finish.  A smooth cuppa to enjoy for sure.

Brewed up cold, this ice tea just gives and gives. Again you get all of those same earthy yerba mate notes and that same green tea feel, but it seems like the mint flavor is richer and more intense.  So refreshing and cooling.  I see this as being a perfect tea for those warm summer afternoons heading our way or even a fabulous ice tea to drink while at my parents’ pool.

I’m a huge fan of green tea, yerba mate, and mint, so I knew this would be a huge hit for me.  What I hadn’t expected was how much my family would dig this tea.  My dad actually asked me to get him some of this tea and my hubby has asked me to give him this tea in the mornings as a cold brew.

Charge is another widely loved tea in my family.  So far there hasn’t been a tea from the Wild Leaf Active Tea lineup that I haven’t loved.  Slim is still my favorite with this one and Smart following right behind.  Even though these are bagged teas, they are so full of flavor that I find myself grabbing them more and more, especially when I’m at work or am in a bigger hurry than usual.

For me, Wild Leaf Active Teas are full of flavor, love, and that added zip that I need to get me thru the day.

Emerald City from Oh You Tease

This tea is exactly what I needed today!

Work has been pretty stressful so I needed an easy going tea that would be forgiving (if i oversteeped) and wouldn’t taste bitter if I had to leave the brew to cool. I quickly grabbed this one, Emerald City from Oh You Tease, an Etsy Tea Shop that I instantly fell in love with.

Brewed up with freshly prepped water and allowed to steep for about 4 minutes, this tea yielded an absolutely gorgeous take on a mint green tea blend. Strikingly on target with the perfect amounts of roasted green tea buttery richness with a hint of vegetal tones and mint. Refreshing, cooling, all you need in a mint green tea and more. I love how both ingredients are allowed to shine and one flavor isn’t overshadowing the other.

Very well done. Simple yet brilliant. Exactly what I was looking for today. I’ve infused the same leaves at least 4 times and I’m still loving the flavor!

Taster’s Review:

Alright, do yourself a favor. . .if you haven’t tried or checked out 212 Tea take a moment and do just that. They are a tea company out of Portland that know how to do tea right. They are passionate and enthusiastic, attributes that you want in a tea company. They even encourage you to send them tea jokes. Now that is seriously my kind of tea company!

This particular tea is something special! I instantly fell in love with the toasted sweetness I was picking up along with traces of mint from the dry leaves. I couldn’t get water into my tea kettle fast enough!

Brewed this delight up with water at about 190 degrees and allowed the tea to steep for about 4 minutes.  I didn’t even allow the tea to cool off. I instantly took a sip and was greeted with some tea loving! This tea had lovely notes of a rich buttery base of green tea that had a nice well balanced solid note of a roasted flavor while the mint gave the tea a freshness that made you just devour it as fast as you could.  Seriously, I have already inhaled about three cuppas of this delight from one session and am warming water for a fourth. It is that amazing.

The tea is a cooling refreshing one that warms at the same time. One of those teas that help you melt the day away while indulging your taste buds.  I will say towards the third infusion I was getting a slight chocolate note but for the most part I didn’t really pick up any chocolate and I am completely fine with that. I’m loving the cuppa that I’m getting out of the tea right now!
