Lola from Sicilian Tea Company. . . . .

Lola from Sicilian Tea Company. I can’t say it’s my FAVORITE tisane but what I can tell you is that I was pleasantly surprised by the aftertaste and I’m glad I was able to have a cup for that sole purpose. I know I am working a little bit backwards here but let me tell you why…

The ingredients in Lola from Sicilian Tea Company are Red Rooibos, Cinnamon, Licorice, and Lavender. I sometimes find companies are overusing red Rooibos the last few years in often mediocre flavor combinations which leave the flavor unmemorable or just don’t seem to jive with my own personal palate. When I saw the additional ingredients within this Rooibos I thought I would give it a try – although – I’m not overly fond of licorice in teas or tisanes – and seem to be hot and cold when it comes to the use of Lavender in tisanes and teas, too!

Having said that…this tea was alright. While it wasn’t my most favorite or favorites upfront while sipping it – my delight was more in the aftertaste and the linger of it all.

All of the ingredients were blended well in this offering. Nothing was too over powering and especially when it came to the Licorice and Lavender I was thrilled that it wasn’t.

The aftertaste is what caught my attention. It lingered nicely. The cinnamon was warming – as was the Licorice. The Licorice offered a subtle sweetness but it didn’t give off a weird aftertaste either. The Lavender seemed to smooth it out and hinted at a bit of floral goodness.

I found this to be very good after a meal or as a treat in the evening! Because Sicilian Tea Company had a winner with this ballsy flavor combo I’m interested in trying more of their offerings! Kudos!

Muse from Tay Tea

Muse. Say it with me…Mew-zzz! Muse from Tay Tea is an herbal tisane that I am rather smitten by. Muse from Tay Tea is blended with 100% organic botanicals: lemon verbena, peppermint, spearmint, lemongrass, lavender, rose petals and lemon balm

Upon opening the sample bag and again while infusing my surroundings were pepped up by the wonderful peppermint and spearmint that filled the air! Mint is one of my FAVORITE aromas! The more intense the better in my book. So I was completely THRILLED at the intensity of the minty-fresh-goodness in this blend of ingredients! Muse by Tay Tea was an eye opener that is for sure!

The lavender and rose made the dry blend look very pretty and gave it that floral nod in the aroma and flavor, too. The lemongrass and balm immediately brought me joy, too! Muse from Tay Tea was a smile in a cup! Sunshine in a cup! It seemed to change my whole outlook on the day, life me up and energize me and my senses, and awakened my creative thoughts while made me ponder life’s possibilities…okay, I know that is a little dramatic…but this has to be one of my favorite herbal tisanes I have experienced in a long while and I can’t wait for another cup!

Royal Blend From Full Leaf Tea Co

This is a lovely blend, with leaves of black, gold, and green, tiny rosebuds, and lavender flowers. The dry blend smells lovely and displays beautifully on a leaf holder.

Oh, the dilemma of what to do when a tea is a black tea/green tea blend! Boiling water to draw out the flavor and robustness of the black tea or cooler to prevent scalding of the green? Many green teas are hardy and require near boiling water so I compromised a bit and used 200F for three minutes.

When I taste it, I am instantly reminded of Christmas. This puzzles me at first. Then I remember my spicy roses that have a clove scent. These rosebuds have the clove scent! This tea tastes every so lightly of clove and the lavender is more subdued than the rose to me.

Since it is a drying tea, this means “goes well with food” in my book! I help myself to a thin and crispy cinnamon sugar cookie and take another sip. Ah yes, I can still taste all the flavors in the tea! This will be a good pairing to remember for the future. As drying as it is, I would not drink it by itself much, but I will definitely be pairing it with light sweets when guests are here. A guest who really only loves black tea tried it without knowing what was in it, took a sip, and said, “Oh, that’s a good one!”

I got a pretty nice second steep from the leaves, too. Bonus!

Blue Lady from Positiviteas

blueladyTea Information:

Leaf Type:  Herbal

Where to Buy: Positiviteas

Tea Description:

“The Blue Lady” is a delicate cup of manners at your fingertips. This little lady is equipped with the four light flavors of Blueberries, Lavender, Lemongrass, and Nettle. Usually, these four ingredients pack a bit of a punch – except for the Lavender. With the Lavender acting as the base, the other three ingredients are added to compliment, but not overpower the lightness and mildness of the base. All together, this brew is full-flavored, but it still keeps the courtesy to not overwhelm your mouth with strong flavors.

Taster’s Review:

Floral teas have been a craving of mine of late, but lavender and I have really never been friends.  But I always try it knowing that one day I would find a blend with lavender that I would love.  And that has happened!

Positiviteas is an Etsy Shop that offers amazing blends like Pucker Up and Sunny Afternoon that make you want to impulse buy some tea.  So many wonderful different blends and I want to try them all!

Blue Lady is a blend of blueberries and lavender for the most part.  There is a distinctive floral perfume like fragrance to the dry leaf mix.  I brewed this up as an  herbal, pulled up my big girl pants, and tried a new tea that I wasn’t sure I was going to like.

Huzzah! This tea is amazing! Thank you Positiviteas! This tea is delicious, refreshing, and soothing.  One of those cozy and charming tea blends that really sings to your soul and settles your nerves.  One of those blends you kick up your feet and let the delicious flavors take away the stresses of your day.

Sweet slightly fruity floral notes are what you get in each sip.  There is a floral perfume flavor but not one that has a bit to it like other teas.  This tea is graceful with the lavender, giving you just a hint of that floral note.  I’m quite surprised at how much I adore this tea.

For me, this tea would be a fabulous stress reducing tea that you indulge in after a hard day.  This tea could very easily be my new evening tea blend!
