Lemon Chiffon from The Love Tea Company. . . . .

I actually made this about a week ago and I was excited to try it out. In fact, I was especially excited since I recently finished a different Lemon Chiffon tea, my beloved Lemon Chiffon by Della Terra Teas. Now THAT was an awesome tea, silky and rich and ever so sweet, just like a fluffy chiffon cake with a smooth lemon buttercream frosting.

However, it didn’t exactly happen that way since a friend came to visit and stole my mug of this tea. She seemed to enjoy it because she finished all 16 ounces before I could even ask for a taste. Luckily I had just enough leaf left for another 16 ounce mug.

My Della Terra blend was made of lemon flavor, cream flavor, and lemon bits and pieces all atop a rooibos base. Alternatively, The Love Tea Company took a different approach using a blend of rooibos and honeybush, topping it with lemon myrtle, lavender flowers, marigold petals, and natural lemon and pomegranate flavors. A bit more natural. A bit more earthy. Though, not exactly a “chiffon” flavor profile.

This has a lot of lavender flavor, a bit of the floral/spice twang that only comes from true lavender. Now I am not a lavender lover though I will say that it compliments the bright lemon flavor nicely. The base also provides a solid foundation without imparting too much flavor, which allows for the lemon and lavender to stand out.

Is it the replacement I hoped it might be? No. But it is done well for what it is and for those that like these flavors, it could be a lovely nighttime treat.

Description

There’s a reason why we call this a brilliant blend.  Remember that Lemon Chiffon cake that Grandma made?  It’s like that, without the cleanup or pinches to your cheek.  A rooibos blend that smells like you could eat it straight out of the jar.   Since it has no caffeine, it’s the perfect compliment to any after dinner treat.

Limoncello from The NecessiTeas. . . . .#desserttea

I am so impressed with this tea that I immediately visited the website and ordered more. First of all, it smells DIVINE! I usually like to add sweeteners to my tea, but this tea is perfect just the way it is.

Limoncello is a refreshing pick-me-up in the evening. I can also see it as a go-to on an under-the-weather day as a soothing drink for a sore throat. I also tried it as an iced tea.

WOW! I will definitely be serving and drinking a lot of Limoncello iced tea this summer (possibly with some fresh mint leaves).

The NecessiTEAS website lists an intriguing variety of creative flavors. If a customer is looking for only one or two items, they have very reasonable flat-rate shipping. I was excited to try more of the fun flavors offered, so I received free shipping with my order.

I can’t wait to try and review more of their fantastic flavors!

Lemon Black from Simpson & Vail. . . . .

The older I get the more I crave lemon flavored teas it seems. Recently we were sent the Lemon Black Tea from Simpson & Vail and I couldn’t wait to try it!

As many of us already know the fruit from the Lemon evergreen tree has been used for culinary and medicinal purposes for thousands of years. Simpson & Vail noted on their website that while fresh lemons and zest are most often used for culinary recipes, the dried peel is an important make-up of tea blends. Its lemony taste helps add flavor to teas and herbal blends, as well as sometimes helping to mellow the flavor of unpleasant tasting herbs.

I think the Lemon Peel specifically shines the brightest in this flavored black tea – not only to the nose but to the tongue, too! It’s highly aromatic and intensely flavored and I just LOVE it!

This flavored tea blend combines natural lemon oil and organic lemon peel with black teas from Sri Lanka and China to produce a summer taste that is fresh and tart. I was completely delighted when I saw S&V used teas from 2 different regions!

I agree with Simpson & Vail when they say that this deep amber cup with its citrus aroma will uplift your spirits! I know it did mine!

Another thing I appreciate with this flavored black tea is that it has very few Ingredients to accomplish the intense flavor. Those ingredients are…black teas, organic lemon peel, and natural lemon oil. That’s it!

Lemon Flavored Black Tea from Simpson & Vail is everything you would expect in a lemon flavored black tea. And everything you would expect from this great company!

Lemon Drop Tea from The Tea Can Company. . . . .

My Grandfather ADORED Lemon Drop Candy! When I first saw Lemon Drop Tea from The Tea Can Company I couldn’t wait to try it! It’s part of their Candy Shop Collection. The labels for their Candy Shop Collection are adorable and nostalgic.

High elevation Ceylon Black Tea, Lemon Peel and Australian Lemon Myrtle? I’m THERE! The company says this tea has the mouthwatering taste of Lemon and the classic taste of Black Tea come together to create this delightful, sweet, low-calorie treat. Again…I’m THERE!

Well it certainly smells like Lemon Drop Candy with a bit of black tea! The aroma is gentle and flowing. Lemony-sweet! I closed my eyes in slow-motion as I sniffed this flavored black steeping in my cup!

After my first sip I was pretty pleased with my first impression of this tea. It’s not a powerful black tea base by any means but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t LOVE it! Because I did! The lemon peel and lemon myrtle worked great together – of course! I’m surprised at the candy-sweet yet citrus flavor this has only having 3 ingredients in it! The perfect case of ‘less is more’.

The lemon flavors aren’t puckery – per say – but more of a sugary-sweet and creamier lemon flavor. If you are familiar with Meyer Lemons that may just be what this is reminding me of! Meyer Lemons. Thus far…my favorite LEMON.

Regardless…Lemon Drop Tea from The Tea Can Company is absolutely wonderful! It reminds me of my grandfather and takes me back in time! A time when things were more simple and everyone appreciated the little things! YUM!
