I was interested in the name of the blend since it implied a white and green tea base. The label of the packaging indicated that it contained “China Sencha, Lung Ching, green Yunnan and Pai Mu Tan” – quite a few teas! Looking at the blend, there was also a nice sprinkle of rosebuds and mango cubes. The dry blend had a nice pear aroma that became grassier after steeping.
The liquor was smooth and pale yellow with very mild astringency. The green and white tea blend base came through and had a very clean taste. There was a slight sweetness at the tail end of the sip, which may have come from the mango cubes or pineapple flakes.
This would be a nice tea if you want to unwind and relax with a book or movie!

Today’s tea I geeked out a bit – I have to admit – it’s Jackfruit Delight from Mahamosa. Now let me tell you WHY I geeked out about Jackfruit Delight from Mahamosa. There are several reasons. The first being that it’s Jackfruit. Jackfruit has been popular in certain countries for a while now but here in the US it’s gaining popularity and I try and find Jackfruit and Jackfruit flavored things whenever I can. The 2nd reason I geeked out about Jackfruit Delight from Mahamosa is because it’s a Black and Green Tea Blend. I’ve had a lot of black/green blended teas that have been pretty bad and this one is the complete opposite. This black and green tea blend is super YUMMY!
Jackfruit Delight from Mahamosa smells like Jackfruit, green tea, and black tea. Mission accomplished on aroma! It ‘brews up’ a darker brown once in the cup. The Jackfruit flavor is powerful followed by BOTH the green tea and black tea flavors. My palate picked up about 60/40 green/black ratio. I think this is a good ratio to have. I have tried green/black blends before and all you can taste is a ‘stale’ green tea and very little to NO black tea. This is NOT the case here with Jackfruit Delight from Mahamosa. The green tea is nice and fresh and so is the black tea in this blend. The black tea doesn’t over power the green tea or the flavor of the Jackfruit. I give this tea two thumbs up on aroma, flavor, and blending success!
Pomegranate Blueberry Fruit Tisane from Mahamosa

Taster’s Review:
I love pomegranate, but, I have to admit that I generally prefer pomegranate flavored teas (Camellia Sinensis) rather than pomegranate fruit tisanes such as this Pomegranate Blueberry Fruit Tisane from Mahamosa. That said … I am having a hard time finding anything to complain about with this fruit tisane … it’s actually rather tasty!
I steeped this using just under boiling water (about 195°F) for six minutes. I find that a steep time between five and seven minutes is just about right for tisanes that are crafted with hibiscus … it’s enough time to extract a little bit of tartness from the herb (but not too much!) as well as a little bit of texture (again … not enough to make it unpleasantly thick, but enough to give it an agreeable body). Here, the tartness of the hibiscus plays well with the pomegranate and blueberry, both of which tend to have just a little bit of tartness of their own. The hibiscus seemed to complement these fruits. The apple, on the other hand, smoothed out the tartness just enough, giving the cup a lovely sweetness while keeping the tartness under control (no puckering!)
But, of course, a tisane that is called “Pomegranate Blueberry” had better be about the pomegranate and blueberry, right? And this tisane highlights these two fruits very nicely. I think that they are both evenly matched, too, the pomegranate comes in right at the start of the sip, and then returns right at the end of the sip, while the blueberry comes through mid-sip. The aftertaste is sweet-tart.
A very pleasant tisane … I think I like it better iced than as a hot drink. The iced beverage seems a little sweeter to me. A really nice alternative to sugary soda for kids … this is something I think they’d really LOVE!
Blood Orange Flavored Black Tea from Mahamosa

This Blood Orange Flavored Black Tea from Mahamosa delivers exactly what it promises! The sweet, juicy flavor of Blood Orange!
The black tea base is a mellow tasting black tea – and before even reading the above description, I could tell just from the taste that this this was a Ceylon … or at the very least, a blend that included Ceylon, and according to the aforementioned description, it is a blend of Ceylon and black teas from China. The flavor is a little “deeper” than a typical Ceylon, I attribute this depth to the China tea. It has a good, solid flavor, but it isn’t what I’d call “bold” or “robust.”
The real star of this cup is the Blood Orange flavor. It is so BRIGHT and refreshing! It tastes authentic … it tastes true to the fruit. So if you’re fond of citrus-y teas, this one would be right up your alley. It’s got a little bit of tangy appeal to it, but mostly, it’s just sweet and juicy like the fruit itself.
I found this to be really tasty … something that would be good to have around when the weather warms up and you want a really delicious iced tea. It makes a really nice hot tea too, it has nice, natural sweetness to it, but, I found that just a pinch of sugar really brought out the natural orange notes just a little more. Really YUM!

Taster’s Review:
When I opened my bag of Pear Green White from Mahamosa my first impression was peach rather than pear but then again I really was not thinking much about the name of the tea nor that it should smell like pear, so peach was my initial reaction. Then on second sniff I smelled circus peanuts…you know those strange little peanut shaped orange candies (love them).
The tea is pretty with rosebuds in it. When steeped my initial reaction upon first sip was KAPOWZA! This tea is not lacking in the flavor department and is nothing close to subtle. This tea reminds me of a southern lady, full of robust flavors, personality to boot, and not afraid to state its opinions. You can’t say that this tea is lacking in anything here! Another thing about this tea that reminds me of a southern lady is that it is sweet, very sweet, and although the southern ladies I know can be tricky, witty, and even a little sassy deep down they are all quite sweet as well. Yes, this is one that I will be cold steeping just to see if it is what I think it will be for me this summer, a daily sipper!
So we have our floral, we have our pear flavor which yes it does come out shinning bright and strong in the cup, we have a lovely white and green base which you just can’t beat for the health benefits, and we have several other tropical fruit notes playing around in the cup. There is a lot going on in here but it works magically well together.
This is that tea you serve at the tea party, or to the kids who refuse to drink tea – trust me they won’t even know that it is tea and will think it is some fruit juice!
Is this tea for the sake of tea in and of itself? No, it is not – purists may really shun this one, but its so nice to have a tea that packs such a punch of flavor because honestly now and then I do want something different – something more fruity and just all out fun!
The base teas are lovely providing a creamy backdrop for all the fruity playful flavors yet still remains bright and cheery not becoming too heavily laden with creaminess.
Oh I could probably go on and on about this one but its time for me to just sit back and enjoy the cup!
