Taster’s Review:

I really can’t believe I have not reviewed Pineapple Upside Down Cake from Della Terra Teas yet! I absolutely love this tea. It is one of my top five favorites from Della Terra and let me tell you it is darn difficult to come up with a top five because they are all so very good! This tea is also one of my stash perma teas too. I always have to have some on hand.

It is so yummy, so sweetly perfect. When I first tried this tea, back when it was first released by Della Terra Teas, I remember being worried it would be too pineapple flavored. Not that I mind a pineapple tea but I really was not looking for a tropical flavor in Pineapple Upside Down Cake. I was not disappointed! I wanted a cakey tasting tea and oh boy this is it! This tastes more like cake flavored tea than any tea I have tasted that was supposed to taste like cake. The pineapple is juicy and sweet but not so overpowering that it takes on too much of a tropical flavor. There is a honeyed note or a syrup like note to it that reminds me of the drippings from sugared pineapple. The aroma is mouthwatering!

This is a very sweet tea so don’t fault it for that but it also is not cloying and does not have a lingering sickly sweetness in the mouth.  Another thing to love about this tea is the number of steeps you can get out of it. I was able to get six steeps from this leaf before it began to lose any flavor!

I am always impressed with Della Terra Teas and I am even more impressed by their customer service and amazing deals they offer on their Facebook page.

Strawberry Cupcake Black Tea from Simpson and Vail

Tea Type:
Black Tea

Where To Buy:
Simpson & Vail

Product Description:

When you sip this delectable brew the strawberry taste first hits your tastebuds followed by the rich, creamy, chocolate “cake” taste. Some of our staff like this blend with agave or sugar, but I find it’s delicious (and less caloric) as is! The aroma is as enticing as the taste – sweet, baked strawberry cupcakes. Yum! The cup leaves a lingering creamy taste of fresh fruit that makes it hard to resist another and another and another sip! Certified Kosher
Tasters Review:

I first tried this when I was in MAJOR need of some comfort food and let me tell you this sure did do the trick!

This flavored black tea has a strong black tea base. Followed by a strong Strawberry flavor. There’s also a dark chocolate flavor in there that is just as sturdy as the strawberry! There is a crusty type taste doing the jive in the middle of the sip. This has a slight bitter taste in parts of the sip but in a good way where it contributes to the overall flavor of this flavored black tea. As it cools it does seem to get a bit creamier…like frosting.

Comfort…in a cup…in more ways than one!  YUM!

Osmanthus Oolong from Tao of Tea

Tea Type: Oolong

Where To Buy: Tao of Tea

Product Description:

Native Name: Gui Hua Oolong

Origin: Guangdong, China

Introduction: Located in the northern part of Chaozhou, close to Guangdong’s border with Fujian Province, Phoenix Mountain is famous for its large, old growth tea trees and distinctive Fenghuang Dancong (Phoenix Select) Oolong tea. It is the highest peak in eastern Guangdong and the indigenous home of the She Ethnic Minority.

Gui Hua
Gui Hua (“gway hwah”) is the Chinese name for the fragrant osmanthus flower, which blossoms in the Phoenix Mountain area during tea season and is used in scenting this oolong.

Chaozhou Tea Culture
Chaozhou is the birthplace for the art of “Gongfu Cha”, the method used for brewing oolong tea throughout southeast China and Taiwan. Large amounts of leaf are skillfully brewed in a small teapot and the fragrant liquor sipped from tiny, thimble-sized cups.

Osmanthus Scenting
After plucking and withering, the tea is rolled sideways and pan-fired creating long, gently twisted, Fenghuang Dancong style leaf. In the final stages of processing, the leaves are baked with fresh osmanthus blossoms “heat-infusing” the tea with the flower’s fragrant essential oils.

Flavor Profile: A light, bright, sweet flavor and a fruity, floral aroma with hints of apple and apricot.

Ingredients: Oolong Tea Leaves.

Tasters Review:

This is AMAZING! Truly AMAZING!

Osmanthus Oolong from Tao of Tea smells floral but it also smells sweet, sugary, and fruity…almost like a combination of Apricots, Apples, and Grapes! I simply LOVE the aroma of this!

There is a smooth-sweet taste and gentle floral notes on the tongue.  It has a nice nutty/buttery aftertaste that makes me crave more!

This is a wonderful Oolong!

I must say I am blown away with the new offerings over at Domo!  Here is another new product of theirs…

Savanna Vanilla African Rooibos!

So far from the new products Domo is offering I am VERY impressed with the Aroma!  The aroma prior to whisking was Vanilla Hot Chocolate-type smell…VERY tempting!  After whisking a stereotypical yet highly scented Vanilla Rooibos.

The Color is that of a cloudy dark reddish brown.  There are very small pebbles of powder floating on top which later I found to be sugary delights!  The Taste is…WOW!  Not only is it rooibos sweet but it’s SUGAR Sweet! And a lovely Vanilla! This is very VERY sweet and sugary and treat-like!

If you like sweet and you like sugar or if you try anything vanilla flavored – you will probably like this!  If you are looking for something to satisfy your sweet-tooth…try this!  Or if you are like me and just like trying new things!  This is NEW…try it!
