Taster’s Review:

I didn’t find this chai on the Supple Skin Boutique website, but I did find a tea they call Masala Chai.  I thought that they might be the same tea, but, a quick comparison of the ingredient lists suggests that this chai may be different.

Regardless, this is a very tasty chai.  The black tea base is robust and invigorating.  It manages to hold its own with the strong spices of this blend.  The black tea is strong and slightly astringent.

The star anise is the spice that stands out most as I taste this.  I can taste the other spices, certainly, but, I like that I can really taste the snappy licorice flavor of the star anise distinctly.  The cinnamon is also quite strong, and the peppery taste from the ginger and peppercorns add a nice kick that is especially noticeable at the tail of the sip.

I am not too familiar with shatavari, but from what I understand of it, it is an Asparagus that is native to India, and is said to promote health and vitality.  I don’t know what it contributes to the overall flavor here, though I don’t know that this would taste the same without it.  And if it benefits me, then it’s all good.

Overall, I am finding this to be a very pleasant cup of chai.  The spices are not overwhelming here – this is not a spicy chai.  Instead, it is a mildly warming spiced tea that is quite delicious, one that I think is mellow enough for even those who are timid when it comes to spice can enjoy.  This makes a fabulous chai latte – sweet, creamy, and with just enough spice.   Delicious!

African Red Bush “Rooibos” (Certified US Organic) from Supple Skin Boutique

Tea Type: Rooibos Tisane

Where To Buy: Supple Skin Boutique

Product Description: None Listed At This Time

Tasters Review:

Eventho this is a plain and unflavored rooibos – plain and simple – it’s still down-right tasty!

How it is different or what makes this one stand out for me!?

Well, I thought it smelled sweeter than most plain Rooibos’s I have had and I found that it was sweet but more surprisingly – smooth – than I was expecting.

This is a mighty fine Rooibos!

I was having problems with their website earlier today while writing this review so that is why I omitted additional product info.

Regardless this is a nice plain rooibos to have on hand at all times!

Green Tea, Japanese Sencha from Supple Skin Boutique

Tea Information:

Leaf Type:  Green

Where to Buy:  Supple Skin Boutique

Product Description:

Sencha green tea is one of the most popular teas in Japan and know for high antioxidant content. Sencha is said to have more antioxidants than other greens teas that is why we use this for our mixtures.

Taster’s Review:

This is an excellent Japanese Sencha.

Overall, this cup is impressive in its mild flavor.  It doesn’t try to overwhelm me with its grassy tones.  The grassy flavor is soft and mellow.  It is lightly sweet.  There is a background note of floral tones that remind me of the air on a breezy day in a flowery field.  A pure and simple tea.

There is a buttery note to this tea that develops as I continue to sip it.  It was barely there when I first started sipping this cup, and now that I am nearly finished, that creamy buttery taste has developed nicely.  There is also a light astringency at the tail of the sip that cleanses the palate.  The aftertaste is sweet and lightly vegetal although it does not linger long.

This is my first tea tasting from Supple Skin Boutique, and I’m very impressed with the quality of this tea.  It is delicious and I like that it is certified organic.  To be truthful, I do not drink tea because it is good for me or because it offers healthful benefits to my skin.  I drink it because I like the way it tastes – and this one tastes great.  That being said, it is nice to know that tea is good for me and helps maintain skin health!  It’s like having my cake and eating it too – but without all the guilt and calories!

Sencha green tea is one of the most popular teas in Japan and know for high antioxidant content. Sencha is said to have more antioxidants than other greens teas that is why we use this for our mixtures.

Add this root to our own favorite tea as a supplement or just add to hot water and drink. Uses for green tea seem endless. It is said that green tea may help reduce inflammation associated with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, the two types of IBD. For years traditional Chinese practitioners used green tea as a stimulant, diuretic , astringent , and to improve heart health. Additionally it has been used to treat flatulence (gas), regulating body temperature and blood sugar, promoting digestion, and improving mental processes. If you are taking any other herbs or supplements please consult with a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new regimen. Tasters Review:

Did you know that LEMONGRASS can help dogs bark less?  I guess I never knew that!

Another thing I must point out is that my other Lemongrass herbal teas don’t really look like this.  This one looks like a pale-tannish-yellow color and has lemongrass but also what looks like root and powder in the mix!

It really didn’t have an aroma prior to infusing but afterwards…it was pleasant but not over the top!   It infuses to a VERY clear and clean pale almost completely clear color liquid-wise.  It’s a very gentle lemongrass and a gentle herb type taste.

This isn’t too bad!  I think it would make a nice base for blending!   It does leave a refreshing aftertaste, too!  I give this one a thumbs-up from Supple Skin Boutique!
