Aha! A morning tea to appease coffee drinkers. The loose leaves of this hazelnut (also known as filbert if you’re botanically savvy) tea smells earthy, warm and dare I say sweet!?! It creates a rich, henna colored infusion. Seriously, I want my hair this color… you are what you drink, right?
Oh, somehow a milky taste snuck in for a full rounded, creamy mouthfeel. I had my rock sugar on standby, wary of bitter tannins, but no sweetener was needed, which is really saying something. It is bold and at the same time, smooth, with a lingering earthy nutty aftertaste.
This tea is the highlighting and contouring of tea, emphasizing what’s already amazing in a way that seems natural. Still tasty after 3 steeps, this is definitely making its way into my regular stock, for my coffee snob friends.

Garden Tea Bukit No.53 from BOH. . . .
Garden Tea Bukit No 53 is such a wonderful way to wake up in the morning!
This particular tea is a dark robust tea with finer ground tea leaves than what I am used to. Brewed up for 3 minutes, allowed to cool, and then topped with frothed milk topping. . .this tea provides all the loving one needs to greet the day. A delicious morning latte with very little fuss. Each sip deliver a spot on bold well balanced robust flavor that mingled so well with the light creamy aspects of the milk.
When I first saw how little the leaves and pieces of leaves were in the canister of Garden Tea Bukit No 53, I wasn’t sure what to think. Now after having several cuppas , I’m to try quite taken with this tea. Even though these tea leaves are small, they pack a mighty flavor.
I’m excited to try this tea as a cold brew with honey and lemon. I have a pitcher of this wonderful combination ready to go for tomorrow afternoon for a tasty refreshing treat!

Roasted Chestnut Black is a visually simple tea, but the smell of this tea alone is eyebrow raising and giggle-worthy. I even used a little bit of this to blend with a chocolate tea that I have to really round it out.

Purple Needle Black Tea of Jing Mai Mountain * Spring 2016
Had to open up the aroma wheel for this one. There are some black teas that I have such a hard time finding descriptors for.
This is a very pleasant tea. No harsh after taste. An intriguing liquid color. Golden brown perhaps? The flavor profile is so amazing. Slightly citrus but the more I sip it the more I am tasting woodsy notes at the end. Flashes of walking through a slightly damp Washington state forest come to mind. Keep spinning the aroma wheel we aren’t through yet.
Even with the citrus and woodsy flavors it can also be defined as sweet. Almost like honey. The sweetness gathers all the flavors in a way that makes you feel as if you are drinking a royal cup of tea. Something truly unique.
Something must also be said about the leaves. Look at how tightly rolled they are!
From the pain-staking process of picking only the young tender buds from the purple trees (See the web page below for more details!), to the processing, and up to the end where it is packaged- all care is taken with this tea.

Description
Purple leaf “Zi Cha” was harvested in Late April from the Jing Mai mountainous area in Lancang county of Simao. The fresh purple leaves were then processed into a flat needle style tea. The processed tea leaves are black with tiny golden shoots on some.
The brewed tea is citrus fruity sweet and very vibrant in the mouth. The smell is floral and grapefruit. The tea soup is a deep red-orange with hints of purple and vert clear.
A unique tea from “Zi Cha” purple tea leaves which is quite different from “Wild Purple / Ye Sheng” varietal black tea.

Topsy Turvy Tea Blend – DisneyParks Tea
Hello, all! At first, I like to start off by introducing myself. My name is Kara and I am incredibly excited to be included in this delightful tea family! I have been a tea lover for a good 14 years and counting and I look forward to including my opinion with all of these amazing ladies! And if you would like to keep up with me I have my social media links down below.
Now on to the tea! I will not lie but when I saw this tea I gasped in delight! For Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite classic Disney movies. And the packaging is adorable and it encompasses everything that I love about Wonderland. First, I will start off with the specifics. The ingredients are as follows; bergamot, black tea, and citrus. The (adorable) instructions recommend to steep it for 3-4 minutes. And if you on the hunt for this tea it is, unfortunately, a Disney Parks exclusive but I am sure you can find a seller on Amazon or eBay.
Now the taste of the tea – which took me by surprise. Now I am used to the flavors of this tea because my favorite is Lady Grey but just like Wonderland, this tea was not what it seemed. The color and the smell of tea was also alike a perfect cuppa but when I took a sip I was hit with a slightly fruity flavor aftertaste. Now I can’t put my finger on it but it was either a blueberry or raspberry taste. And to my amazement, I thoroughly enjoyed it. For I usually don’t like teas that have fruity notes. And before I knew it, my cup was empty.
All in all, this tea is very reflective of that classic and kooky Wonderland that I grew up with. I couldn’t help imagining myself at the Mad Hatter’s table drinking this blend while singing the “Very Merry Unbirthday” song. I definitely want more of this tea and this will be a purchase (if I can find it) that I will make in the future.
