Heavenly! That’s the best word to describe this black tea blend. You’ll think you’re in a bakery when you open the bag and the aroma of nutty goodness wafts out. The brewed tea is divine – with no calories!

Ingredients: Black teas, almonds, flavoring and safflower blossoms.

Taster’s Review:

Wowza!  As I sit here, preparing to write this review, my favorite tea mug is filled to the brim with this tea.  The aroma is almost too much to take.  It smells like freshly baked cookies, and it’s making my stomach growl!  My tummy thinks that cookies are sitting in front of me, not tea!

So, finally, I must cave in and take a sip.  YUM!

There are several “almond cookie” type teas out there, but I can’t recall any that I’ve tried that were better than this one.  The flavor is sweet – but not too sweet – and there is a baked cookie kind of taste to it too.  It’s slightly buttery.  The black tea base is strong without overpowering the sweet almond flavor.

And it is the almond that is the star of this cup.  From the aroma that is experienced before even taking that first sip, right down to the last sip and the aftertaste, the almond is front and center.  It is sweet, nutty and has a pleasant roasted/toasted kind of taste to it.

I think that the perfect temperature for this tea is hot, but not freshly-brewed, still piping-hot hot.  Allowing this tea to cool ever so slightly will allow some of the cookie taste to emerge without losing any of the almond or black tea flavors.  The slightly cooled tea tastes like a bit like my favorite almond biscotti that has just been dunked in black tea.  Delicious!

Gingersnap Cookie Rooibos from Fusion Tea Room

Tea Information:

Leaf Type:  Rooibos

Product Description:

This mouth-watering herbal blend is sure to delight. Wonderful with a splash of cream and a pinch of sugar. It doesn’t have to be winter to enjoy this gingerbread treat. Aromatic and naturally caffeine free.

Taster’s Review:

As I sit here, the fragrance of this tisane is enticing me to take a sip.  I have never had freshly baked gingersnap cookies before, but, this is what I would expect them to smell like if I ever happen to try my hand at baking them myself.  It smells so wonderful.

And it tastes even better than it smells!  It is sweet and delicious – and yes, it tastes very much like gingersnaps.

The flavor is nutty and spiced just right.  The ginger is warm and slightly peppery, but, it isn’t a spicy-hot ginger taste.  The fruit in this lends a nice depth to the flavor.  It doesn’t taste fruity, but it tastes sweeter and a little richer because of the fruit.

After my first cup – which I drank without any additions – I decided I wanted more of this amazing tisane, so I brewed another cup.  This time I felt a little adventurous so I added a little bit of turbinado sugar and a splash of milk.  What a treat!  Yes, it was delicious straight, but with a little milk and sugar the flavors really come to life!

This one is going on my shopping list!  I must have more!

White Tea Brownies from Sanctuary T

Product Information:

Where to Buy:  Sanctuary T

Company Description:

If you are in need of a chocolate fix that complements your nice cup of tea, snatch a bag of these decadent, tea-inspired brownies. Loaded with white tea, valhrona chocolate, and bits of walnuts, these brownies are a rich complement to a cup of tea. Each package comes with 3 large, rich brownies!

Taster’s Review:

I have a confession to make.  I am currently working on my second order of these brownies.  I had only planned on ordering one order of them – just to try them – because, even though I thought they’d be good, I figured they couldn’t be as good as my fresh, made from scratch, home-baked brownies.

WRONG!  These brownies easily blow my brownies out of the water.  In fact, they are the best brownies I’ve ever eaten in my life!  And, once upon a time, I worked for a famous cookie/brownie vendor in the mall, back when that vendor still made the cookie and brownie batches fresh instead of from frozen dough.  These brownies are even better than those!

So… needless to say, once my package was empty, I ordered another one, PRONTO!

The flavor is rich and fudge-y and make the perfect tea-time snack.  Maybe not for “High Tea”… because these brownieshave an ooey-gooey factor to them.  It came as a bit of a surprise the first time I tried them.  I mean, you kind of expect that you’ll be licking chocolate off your fingers with a home-baked brownie, but not something you bought off the internet.  With these brownies, prepare for chocolate-y fingertips!

That being said, these brownies are a better “alone tea time” treat.  Pour yourself a cup of tea (I really recommend Carnival Tea with these brownies) and devour!

The brownies are filled with chocolate chips, walnuts and I think I may have even encountered a bit of caramel in my first batch.  In this batch, I haven’t found any caramel yet, BUT… I can taste the white tea a bit better in this batch than in the first.

Yes, it’s true, the white tea does get a little lost in this explosion of chocolate flavor.  That being said, it is doubtful that someone would actually miss the tea after tasting these decadent delights.  In the first batch, I could tell there was something else there… but it wasn’t a distinct white tea taste.  With this batch, though, I can definitely taste white tea.
