Rooibos Peach from Drink T

Tea Information:

Leaf Type:  Rooibos

Where to Buy:  Drink T

Company Description:

Rooibos was popularized by South Africans, who have been making herbal tea from this little red bush for generations.  Rooibos comes from the Dutch word rooibosche, which means “red bush”.  It is most often enjoyed on ice with a slice of lemon and some sugar or honey.

Our tea is a marriage of Rooibos and ripe, summer peaches for a truly delicious infusion.  This refreshing beverage can be enjoyed hot or is ideal served chilled on warm summer afternoons.

Taster’s Review:

I put off trying this tea for a little while – not because I didn’t think I’d like it, but because I had a pretty good idea of what to expect from it.  I’ve tasted peach flavored rooibos before, and I didn’t think that this would be any different.  What I had tasted was good, you know, alright, not bad… but, it wasn’t spectacular, either.  I figured that this tea would be quite similar to the ones I had tried in the past…

Boy, was I wrong!  This is spectacular (and trust me when I say you won’t hear me say that about a rooibos blend very often!)

I really like how the peach flavor and rooibos work together in this blend.  The woodsy note of the rooibos actually enhances the peach flavor by cutting through some of the sweetness.  This isn’t a cloying, sugary-sweet peach concoction.  This tastes true to the fruit!  This tastes like I picked a peach off the tree and started eating it.  I can almost feel the warm peach juices running down my arm!

Now, that is not to say that this isn’t a sweeter tasting beverage, because it does possess its own natural sweetness – but it doesn’t taste overly sweet.  This tastes like the fruit – and not like a processed, syrupy sweet peach pie filling.

I like this very much!  I enjoyed my first cup hot, but, then I decided to brew some and chill it – and it’s fantastic iced!  A real treat that everyone in the family will enjoy!

There is just SOMETHING about the Rooibos and Peach duo that peak my interest!  Drink T really does this one right!  The first time I drank this I tried it hot!  It’s fruity and juicy and sweet…it is very treat like.  It’s pure Rooibos and Peach – straight to the point – and very flavorful!

I also tried this one cold/iced and it is just as terrific iced.  I will be drinking this often…I can already SEE it!  This is a pure delight!

High Mountain Alishan from Drink T

Tea Type: Oolong

Where to Buy: Drink T

Product Description:

Alishan (Mount A Li) is one of Taiwan’s legendary Oolong tea-growing regions. The rich soil and cool moist climactic conditions make it ideal for growing tea. Because of the daily mountain mists, the plants grow slowly, producing tender, flavorful leaves and buds.

Our Alishan Oolong is hand-picked and hand-processed in a time-honored method yielding rolled ‘fists’. It has a smooth, fruity, sweet taste and a pleasing bright color. This tea has a complexity that brings out a distinct flavor and character with each brewing.

Tasters Review:

Ever since my first cup of Ali Shan from another company…I haven’t looks back!  I’m always up for a good Alishan/Ali Shan…from any company…this one was another goody!

I did 2 infusions and here is what I found…

First Infusion –
It looks like an Alishan SHOULD look…it smells slightly floral-sweet. More floral than sweet. As it infuses I picked up the slightest hint of a vegetable of some sort…I’m thinking the taste is close to green peppers???

On the tongue – it’s smooth and sweet and semi-floral!

For the 2nd Infusion:
It was even more floral and even a little more like vegetables. I really think I like the 2nd infusion better…seems to be more flavorful! It’s even darker in color.

I’m not sure why…but I can see myself drinking this from a stylish tea thermos – thru a park – on a foggy night!  Thumbs Up on this Alishan from Drink T.
