Taster’s Review:

Passion Fruit Wulong from Red Leaf Tea is a gentle, delicate, dainty tea! How perfect that I decided to use my gorgeous pink with golden swirl teacups! I feel dainty drinking this sweet, juicy, fruity tea!

The Wulong aroma is present but it may have needed more steep time to give me that Wulong punch I am used to.

This is so subtle yet enticing with its flavoring. I could see this being the perfect tea for a young girls tea party, to introduce new tea drinkers to finer teas, etc. Brewed double strength I can absolutely see how this would be a wonderful iced tea as well.

Yes, I do like this one quite a bit. I tend to lean toward stronger flavors personally but this tea has really hit its mark with a soft warm gentle glow.

Passion Fruit Wulong has a strong buttery aroma, with fruity notes jumping up for attention. The flavor of passion fruit, and mango, perhaps even some papaya come out to play then to finish there is a  lingering flavor of melon, perhaps honeydew or cantaloupe.

At 4.99 for 1.6 ounce its a steal!

Taster’s Review:My first couple of sips of this tea, I noticed an almost wine-like taste to this tea, and I thought maybe my taste buds were acting up (they do that just before I am about to get sick, and I am hoping I am not about to get sick!)  But then I visited Steepster and I noticed that other tasters have indicated a wine-like taste to this tea.  It’s very intriguing!

The white tea has a delicate flavor – crisp, sweet and almost effervescent.  The melon notes are beautifully balanced with the lightness of the white tea – creating a gentle flavor that is mild and sweet and delicious.

As we are experiencing some mighty cool weather, I chose to drink this hot, and it’s delicious.  However, as tasty as it is hot, I am thinking it is even better iced as it has such a refreshing quality to it.  This is one to add to your shopping list because when the weather gets warmer, you’ll want to keep a supply of this tea on hand!

Sliver Needle White Tea from eTeaket

Tea Type: White Tea

Where To Buy: eTeaket

Product Description:

Silver Needle is the most famous of all white teas, and for good reason. The delicate downy buds (packed with antioxidants and very low in caffeine) give a delicate but complex flavour with a hint of melon, fresh citrus notes and a lingering finish. Forget silver, this tea deserves a gold medal.

Tasters Review:

I can smell the melon in this prior to infusing! Sliver Needle White Tea from eTeaket is very clean and pretty smelling! Once it has time to infuse a little I can pick up more of the floral and sweet grass aromas underneath too!

It’s also VERY Clean and Smooth on the tongue. The aftertaste is sweet-grass, citrus-melon, and fresh spring bouquet all wrapped up into one! This is Nice!  One of the better and more memorable Sliver Needles I have tried!

Taster’s Review:

Fig orchard!  Yes, that is what I think of when I smell this brewed tea (especially when chilled!)

As far as I know, there are no figs in it, but, there is something about the aroma of this tea that mentally transports me to the fig orchard that I spent many an hour in as a young child, picking sun-ripened figs and eating them right there in the orchard.

Weird, right?

But, I do want to clarify – this tea DOES NOT taste like figs.  It doesn’t even really smell like figs.  There is just something in the aroma that brought that memory to the surface for me.

The white tea base is – not surprisingly – rather delicate but I can definitely taste it – it tastes refreshing and light.  There is a pleasant balance between tea and melon taste.  The melon tastes juicy and sweet – a very pleasant fruity taste that complements some of the softer features of the white tea.

As tasty as the melon flavor is here, there is a part of me that wishes it were not quite so strong so that I could taste more of the jasmine, which just sort of lingers – whispering ever so softly – in the background.  It is a nice touch, but, this jasmine lover wants just a little more of jasmine’s sweet song to dance upon my palate.

This is a delicious blend that is very refreshing.  It is very good hot, but, I strongly suggest trying it iced.  It’s truly amazing as an iced tea and has become one of my FAVORITE teas to serve iced.  And I’ve tried a lot of teas!
