Grown high in the mountains of one of the world’s premier tea gardens, Glendale Estate is a truly remarkable tea. Cinnamon-colored leaves yield a golden-brown liquor. Fresh, woodsy notes reminiscent of an alpine meadow give way to undertones of warm spice and port wine. Savor this tea sip after sip.

  • White tea

This tea is made from 100% natural ingredients.

Taster’s Review:

This is a rather unique white tea.  It tastes much more like an Oolong than most of the white teas that I’ve ever tasted.  It reminds me of a lighter version of a Bai Hao Oolong.  It has similar fruit notes and a honey-esque finish.  The mouthfeel is deliciate, smooth and soft.

It is an incredibly delicious white tea.  In addition to the fruit and honey notes, I can also taste a nutty quality as well as a faint hint of raw wood.  Like I said – it’s very unique.  I like it very much!

I was a little sad when I visited the Octavia Tea website and was unable to locate this tea.  I know that they’ve made some changes to their website and the look of their label, so I hope that the omission of this tea is a temporary one… because you really should try it!

Tasters Review:

You may have noticed over the past week or two SororiTEA Sisters have upped the amount of Holiday Related Tea Posts!  Well, indeed, we have!  The Holiday Season is HERE afterall!  To add to our ever-growing list of Holiday Teas or Seasonal Teas…Here is another one!  One from Octavia Tea and it’s called WINTER TEA.

Winter Tea smells like Mint Chocolate Chip before infusion…right as you open the package.  Post infusion smells like Vanilla-Chocolate-Mint-Rooibos.

Taste-wise is first and foremost Mint then Chocolate then Vanilla then Rooibos then spice then back to chocolate then Vanilla-Rooibos!  Yup!  It’s a great wintery rollercoaster of flavor folks!  And I wouldn’t have it any other way!  This has a lot happening here but everything follows suit with what you would expect based on the idea of this tisane and the ingredients!

This is a very good flavored Rooibos and a yummy seasonal cuppa!

50 fill-your-own tea bags per box.

Product Review:

As many of you probably know, I have been a tea artist (err… that is, I flavor and blend unique tea blends) for many years now.  And during those many years, I have utilized T-Sacs quite often – when sampling out my own blends.  Heck, I even sold them!

But, today, I have discovered a better product.  Tea Pockets!  What makes these so much better, you ask?  Well, these have a nifty fold-over flap (kind of like the old-school sandwich bags that mom used to pack in my lunches) to keep the tea leaves safely ensconced within the roomy pouch.  These also have a string loop to easily (and painlessly) remove the “tea bag” from the hot liquid.

And like T-Sacs, these are also bleach-free (and tasteless) so there are no chemicals to alter the taste of your tea.

This is THE WAY to make your own tea bags – which will be better than any commerically manufactured tea bag! – because you use your favorite high quality loose leaf tea!

Wild Blueberry from Octavia Tea

Tea Information:

Leaf Type:  White

Where to Buy:  Octavia Tea

Company Description:

Capture the deep, luscious flavor of wild blueberries in a cup of tea. This enchanting infusion is made from an exquisite white tea blended with organic blueberries and a touch of sweet-tart hibiscus. Known for its detoxifying, stress-relieving properties, white tea has a delicate, nectar-like flavor contains the highest antioxidant level of all teas.

Taster’s Review:

This is an excellent blueberry tea.

The white tea base is light but it does not allow itself to be overwhelmed by the other flavors of the tea.  It has a sweet, fresh flavor that enhances the blueberry flavor.

The blueberry tastes very authentic.  It tastes like ripe blueberries – actually, since I’m drinking this tea hot, what it reminds me of is the blueberry taste in a piping hot blueberry muffin, bursting with sweet, juicy deliciousness!

There is also hibiscus in this blend, but I am happy to report that it is a very small amount of hibiscus.  Just enough to add a wee bit of tartness in the aftertaste, and a pleasant texture to an otherwise very light bodied tea.

I quite enjoyed this blend.  It is best served hot because the delicate nature of this tea tends to become a bit muted as it cools, however, if you want it iced, just add a little bit of sugar or other sweetener (try honey or agave nectar) and this will enhance the flavors a bit.

If you love blueberries – you really should try this tea!
