Tasters Review:

Some teas I just HAVE to post because they do something RIGHT where other companies do not.  This is one of those teas!  Steamy Cinnamon Rose Tea from Talbott Teas is the tea I am highlighting this evening.  Eventho Steamy Cinnamon Rose Tea from Talbott Teas was NOT Mentioned by name on Oprah’s Favorite Things this past Monday – if you look close to the TiVo, DVR, Play-Back, or online clip you can see the classy Maroon and Black labeled tin of it in the display picture!

The reason I say that Talbott Teas did this tea RIGHT is because many rose teas and many cinnamon teas I have had either have too much, not enough, or fake tasting flavoring.  Talbott Teas made Steamy Cinnamon Rose just the way I hoped it would taste!

This is a nice bold black flavored tea! Perfect for the mornings! The black tea taste is in front with lovely true orange flavors 2nd in line. The cinnamon and spices are in the background and are ‘just right’.

Thank you for the measurements of these ingredients, Talbott Teas!  The end result was “steamy”, yes, but not over-the-top or artificial tasting.  And the Rose and Orange flavors are lovely!

The guys over at Talbott Teas are still “on Cloud Nine” from being on Oprah’s Favorite Things Yesterday and here at SororiTEA Sisters we thought we would continue to celebrate with more Talbott Tea Reviews this week!

Today I would like to talk about Blissful Blueberry from Talbott Teas.  There are many reasons I would like to chat about this one, actually.  One being the name connection…BLISSful.  BLISS is not only part of my screen name but also part of my real name and I use that play on words quite a bit.  I have a Craft Blog called Blissful Place and it’s located HERE.

I was intrigued by this tisane because of the blueberries, too!

I remember the first time I sampled this tisane from Talbott Teas…I’ll admit…I was afraid!  The post infusion color is what ‘got me’.  The color was so vibrant I KNEW their was Hibiscus in it and if any of you know me you know my troubled relationship with hibiscus!  I was thinking it was going to be Hibiscus and NOTHING else!  BUT I was thankfully wrong!  This is a wonderful mixture of fruit, folks!  Mostly Blueberry BUT the strawberry and apple flavors are noticeable to the tongue as well!  It’s quite tart and fruity but mostly from the actual fruit and not as much from the hibiscus.   I can tell there is hibiscus in there but not nearly as much as I assumed!

For those who aren’t crazy about Hibiscus – try what I did…under infuse!  It does make a difference!  AND…I have found this one I enjoy COLD or ICED more than the Hot Cup Equivalent!  I really do think it’s the Blueberries!  They make this work ICED!  It’s VERY Nice!

Just another offering from our friends at Talbott Teas who are still celebrating their products being featured on Oprah’s Favorite Things yesterday!  Continued success to you!

If any of you are Oprah Fans then you may have seen Talbott Teas featured on today’s Oprah Show.  It was a Very Special SURPRISE Day Two of Oprah’s Favorite Things and our friends over at Talbott Teas were featured smack-dab in the middle of the show!

Here at SororiTEA Sisters we have posted many Talbott Tea Reviews and we have more on tap this week to celebrate their teas being featured on Oprah!

Today I would like to share one of my favorites from Talbott Teas called Cocoa Cardamom Seduction!

The name of this drives me wild!  Mission Accomplished, I suppose!

I can clearly see ALL of the described ingredients!  I can’t stop sniffing this!  It’s AWESOME…It’s like a Chocolate Peanut Butter type smell.  I have been smelling it over and over again.

The first sip I really did notice the cardamom but I think that was the idea of the whole thing, right!? I mean, hence – the name!?  Anyhow…I continued to sip and certainly picked up on both the Almond and the Cocoa.  The cinnamon and cardamom pair together as they should and the pairing jumps up in front of the line but the Chocolate/Almond taste isn’t too far behind.  The color of the tea liquid is a light-medium brown.

I’ve had this tea several times and each cup is a tad different.  I have tried picking out more almonds some times and less cardamom other times just to taste the difference.  Each cup is a wonderful adventure, regardless!

If you are a new reader of our blog you may or may not know that I drink all of my teas plain with no additives.  If you are the type of person who enjoys sweetener or cream in their tea I will have you know that a good online friend of mine who also happens to be a tea freak says that by adding cream and sugar to this it is much more dessert-like and is a “very rich, cocoa-flavored tea with a taste of cardamom and a light hint of cinnamon.”

So which ever way you enjoy your tea – make sure you make room for Cocoa Cardamom Seduction from Talbott Teas…as seen on Oprah’s Favorite Things earlier today!

Congrats to Talbott Teas for making it to Oprah’s Favorite Things!  And two thumbs up to Oprah for highlighting TEA on her show!

Paris Breakfast from Talbott Teas

Tea Information:

Leaf Type:  Black

Where to Buy:  Talbott Teas

Company Description:

Elegant and delighting malty breakfast blend of the finest organic black tea leaves to awake and captivate the senses. The ultimate wake-up tea. Enjoy plain or with a splash of milk.

Taster’s Review:

I’ve tried a few Paris Breakfast / French Breakfast blends now, and I must say that this is my favorite thus far.  The other French breakfast blends tended to be flavored – not that I dislike flavored teas!  I quite like them – with vanilla or caramel or a combination of vanilla and caramel.  This one is unflavored and I think that this is what gives it an edge over the other French Breakfast blends I’ve tasted.

Normally, my preference would probably be for the flavored blend, but, I really like how well rounded and full flavored this tea is!  It is robust!  It is full-bodied and bursting with so much natural flavor that it really doesn’t need additional flavorings!

The Assam lends a very rich flavor to this tea, and a malty note that is quite enchanting.  It possesses a very pleasant baked flavor with a chewy texture.  It is a tea that I would LOVE to wake up each and every morning.

It has a hearty enough taste to it that this tea would take well to the addition of milk and honey, if you wish to add it.  I actually didn’t do that because I found that I was perfectly content with the flavor as is – with no additions.  It did not possess a bitter or rough edge to it that I generally find in Assam and wish to smooth out with a splash of milk and drizzle of honey.  It is just pleasantly smooth, strong… but not edgy.  Perfect!

But here’s the rub.  I can’t find this tea on Talbott Teas’ website.  What’s up with that?  I hope that this gets remedied soon, because this is a tea that is definitely high on top of my tea shopping list!  I love it!

Edited to add:  According to Steven Nakisher from Talbott Teas, this tea is currently only available in the restaurants and cafes that offer Talbott Teas – so keep an eye out for them!  You’ll be glad you did!

Citrus Appeal Tea from Talbott Teas

Tea Type: Green Tea

Where To Buy: Talbott Teas

Product Description:

Product Description: Bright top notes of fresh pineapple and mango awaken your palate. The tart sweetness of passion fruit stirs your curiosity. Made with premium Japanese Sencha green tea, this blend is pure sunshine.

All natural premium ingredients: Full leaf Japanese Sencha green tea, hibiscus, grapefruit peel, pineapple pieces, calendula petals, lemon and natural grapefruit flavor

Tasters Review:

Citrus Appeal from Talbott Teas – I must say the aroma is delightful before, during, and after infusing!  The Pineapple Pieces in this are HUGE and delicious!  The taste is a flavorful fruity and tantalizing tropical-sweet yet sugary.  This is a good tasting green. There is VERY LITTLE Hibiscus in this which is MUCH appreciated! Thanks Talbott Teas…you know me too well!  And these are just my findings on the first infusion!

For the 2nd infusion the post infusion color is drastically different…It’s a grey-purple green the first attempt was more of a green-yellow. I could also taste the Lemon, Grapefruit more where as the 1st attempt I could taste the Pineapple more-so.

Regardless I really enjoyed BOTH infusions!  So if you your taste buds are tempting you for something green and something citrus with a twist – give this one a whirl!
