Wellness Tea-Bone Repair from The Virginia Tea Company. . . .

It is the beginning of a new year and I’m sure if you are like me, you are seeing a ton of detox and healthy wellness teas in your social media feeds. I’ve never been a big fan of good for you herbals but I’ve always enjoyed herbals that are full of dried fruit.   Recently I’ve noticed my taste buds are starting to change. I’m no longer craving the floral teas like I used to but am finding myself really craving herbs and spices like ginger, spearmint, peppermint, chamomile, and so on.

So today I thought would be a great day to try Bone Repair from The Virginia Tea Company.  I am a huge advocate for natural herbal remedies to cure what ails you. Not that I don’t grab OTC drugs when I’m in need, but I do prefer to try out a more natural approach for certain body issues I have.

Bone Repair is a mix of nettle, St. John’s Wort, chamomile, dandelion, ginger root, and peppermint.  All are organic. This tea’s description on the site goes something like this:

High in vitamins and helpful bone minerals, these herbs make this tea a wonderful enabler for strengthening your body’s skeleton.

Regardless of the health benefits, I have to say this tea is amazing. Herbal teas to me always have that herbaceous feel to them and this tea doesn’t really have it or maybe I should say that feel isn’t overwhelming.

There is a light sweetness mingled with a hint of spice surrounded by a refreshing cooling mint aftertaste. I can’t say that I’ve ever had such a smooth herbal tea like this before. I have literally had four cups of this tea today alone (resteeping the same bag even!).

I haven’t had some of these spices and herbs before so I can’t say if what I’m tasting is from this or that. All I can say is even if I am not in need of bone repair specifically-this tea delivers a refreshing, soothing, and calming flavor that could be enjoyed any time of the day.

Really happy with this one and I have a feeling that this will be a re-order for me. Plus, there is a cool option to get tea accessories added in for just a bit more. You have to love that option!

Earl Grey from Virginia Tea Company. . . . .

I knew I was going to love this tea as soon as I opened the packet and smelled it. It has the familiar floral scent of Earl Grey teas, but it was much milder.

I have had some really delicious Earl Grey teas, and some that are too overpowering with the floral notes. I usually have my black teas with a little coconut milk and some raw sugar, but today I was out of sugar. So I brewed the tea and added a little almond milk. I expected it to be a little meh with no sweetener, but I am happy to report I was wrong about the meh.

It was delicious with just the almond milk. The floral notes were there, but subtle. It had almost a toasted flavor, with just a hint of floral. It was a perfect cup to help gently wake me up on this cold, blustery morning.

This is like Earl Grey for beginners, and I mean that in the best way. It’s subtle and gentle, not over the top and aggressive. It feels very sophisticated, and as I breathed in the scent and closed my eyes,

I pictured myself somewhere fancy having a cup of tea and stimulating conversation. If you like earl grey tea, I can’t recommend this blend from Virginia tea Co. enough!

Enjoying some Winter Cheer from The Virginia Tea Company

Over the weekend, we received some winter weather. Ice, Sleet, Snow. . .just a good ol fashioned winter storm that makes you want to snuggle down in your favorite pajamas, wrap up in your favorite blanket, and drink insane amounts of tea all day long while binge watching your favorite show.

Well, I wasn’t able to get all of those items knocked off my list today, but I did drink insane amounts of tea. Of this tea to be exact!

If you aren’t familiar with The Virginia Tea Company, take a moment and check out their teas and what they have to offer. I’ve been quite impressed with their hand blended creations that are both delicious, fresh, and quite simply as soul soothing as you can get.

This particular blend, Winter Cheer, is chalk full of all the wonderful holiday spirit. Black tea, peppermint, and cinnamon.  And when I say cinnamon and peppermint, I mean huge gorgeous chunks of cinnamon in a bed of black tea leaves and peppermint. This is one of those teas that you find yourself just enjoying the dry leaf aromas so much. At least I did.

After finishing my first cup of this tea, I have to say this tea delivers. Delivers on taste, quality, freshness,. . this tea is Winter Cheer personified in a cup. The black tea notes gorgeously mingle with the sweet cinnamon and the peppermint provides a much welcomed freshness that keeps you drinking this tea. I’m on my third infusion of the same tea leaves and I’m still getting all of the love I got from the first cup. . .just slightly weakened.

What a fabulous way to enjoy the holidays and winter weather we are now experiencing and will continue experiencing. Highly recommend this one to keep you snugly and warm this winter!

Headache Relief from Virginia Tea Company

I’ve been a chronic headache sufferer my whole life. Until I realized that it was a symptom of some greater health concerns and started treating it accordingly, I thought it was normal to be popping ibuprofen multiple times a day, every day. While my headaches are far better than they used to be, I still struggle with them from time to time– so when I saw this herbal blend from Virginia Tea Co, I knew I had to give it a try!

I came home at the end of a particularly stressful week this past week with a trademark headache, and turned to a cup of Headache Relief to see if it might help dull the ache instead. I immediately noted the trademark notes of a great herbal blend– that grassy, slightly medicinal scent that I’ve come to associate with herbs that are meant to heal in addition to just smelling good. And I loved it!

This tea sips very nicely, with an almost-licorice sweetness at the end. This tea wasn’t the magic ticket for making my headaches disappear, but I definitely noticed a decrease in the nauseated feelings my headaches can bring, and it was a great way for me to slow down and care for myself during a time where I wasn’t feeling my best. I’ll absolutely be keeping a stash of this around for achey days in the future!
