Taster’s Review:

I like spicy food.  Unfortunately for me, it doesn’t really like me.  After I eat something a little too spicy, I find myself suffering from some rather uncomfortable indigestion.   But, I can’t let something like this stop me from enjoying the foods that I love.

Instead, I’ve learned how to combat it.  I just grab an herbal tea like this one – pure Organic Peppermint Tea from Two Leaves and a Bud – and it offers me soothing relief (plus leaves my mouth feeling minty fresh!)

Having already reviewed this tea, I don’t know that I have very much more to say about it.  Two Leaves and a Bud haven’t changed anything about this tea – it’s still 100% pure, Organic Peppermint.  This tea has no fillers and no extra unnecessary herbs.  Just naturally sweet, fresh-tasting peppermint that is vibrant and alive with flavor.  And that’s all that I need to get the “job” done.

This not only makes a delicious hot cup of soothing relief when I have indigestion, but it is a delightfully thirst-quenching tea when iced.  Pure, pristine and perfect!  That’s this Peppermint to a … TEA!

Tasters Review:

This one really surprised me.  I went into this thinking it was going to be all about the sage for some reason but there is a lot of other flavors going on here.  It’s pretty good!  I’m sure the peppermint had something to do with it. Many of you know how much I like Peppermint!

I can taste the peppermint, sage, and bergamot. The Lemon is noticeable but blends in with the bergamot mostly.  There is a slight sage aftertaste a little bit more sage than peppermint.   This is very different but pretty good.

Taster’s Review:

Interesting… yes, that is how I would describe this tisane:  interesting.

I must admit that I was a little disappointed by this tea.  That is not to say that I didn’t enjoy it – I did!  It just isn’t quite what I expected.   Based on the description of this tisane, I expected it to be a spicy chocolate-y blend.   However, I found the anise to dominate the cup and what I taste is… well, licorice.  Now, I love licorice – LOVE IT!  But, it is certainly not what I was prepared to taste when I brewed this tea.

As I said, the licorice flavor is strong.  It is sweet and has a pleasant sharpness to it, and tastes a lot like a piece of black licorice that’s been lightly dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with a masala blend of spices.  I am not getting a lot of the chili flavor – but there is a VERY pleasant peppery kick at the finish.  It is pleasantly warm – with just enough bite for interest.  There isn’t a lot of chocolate flavor here – just a teaser of chocolate – but I like how it adds to the overall interest of the cup.

It is a very delicious blend of sweet and spicy with an emphasis on the sweet.  I suggest adding a drizzle of honey to the blend to bring out the sweeter side of the anise (without the sweetener I found this to be a little too pungent for my palate).  A very nice, INTERESTING change of pace!
