I have tried a lot of teas that are named some variation of sweet almond. It is always a green tea, but they all do not taste the same. Some are very much like marzipan, others are more so the taste of green tea. This one, by Storehouse Teas, is more the latter than the former. Which is good, sometimes you don’t want that overly sweet marzipan taste!
The smell of this sweet almond tea is most definitely sweet almond with slight marzipan. I added just a tad of agave though because on taste, it was not as sweet as it smells. It actually was a really decent green tea, with a prominent green tea taste. Much less marzipan that I would have expected. So, if you’re not usually a fan of marzipan but you want a sweet almond tea, you would enjoy this one.
This definitely has nutty undertones, and they blend really well with the cool and crisp vegetal flavor of the green tea. Its very light, very smooth, and does really well with an addition of addition of agave. The rose petals also add a floral tone that blends well with the other components. I think this is one of my favorite sweet almond green teas that I’ve tried! I really like how its light. I don’t always like when the flavor is light, though, but with this it really works. I would recommend trying if you like green tea!

Extinction Event from Tea Historic. . . . .
If you don’t already know I am a HUGE Dinosaur Enthusiast. It’s the main reason I was drawn to Tea Historic as a company – other than the tea – of course! When I saw Extinction Event from Tea Historic I knew it was going to be EPIC! I mean – with a name with Extinction Event – it HAD to be, right?
This Extinction Event Tea from Tea Historic is made up of hand-rolled golden tippy black Yunnan tea and white Yunnan jasmine pearls. The black tea carries a hint of sweetness with a little spice to provide a bit of a ‘give and take’ with your taste buds. The white tea adds a mild, sweet floral note that turns a bit buttery towards the end sip.
I have found the hotter the better for infusing this ‘bad boy’. The large hand rolled ball of black tea expands nicely the hotter the water is. The Jasmine Pearls unwind with little to no effort. The black bundle of goodness takes 2 infusions to fully release. I LOVE it because that means multiple infusions with little to no sacrifice to the bold taste.
Something I found clever on the company website about this tea was they refer to the Chinese black dragon pearls as “asteroids” and the Jasmine Pearls as ‘little splinter “rocks”. Tea Historic gives Dinosaur fans another ‘educated guess’ as to what happened to the creatures. They say it’s a tastier version of the fatal meteor strike that may have ended this historic tea party.
This tea blend comes in individual packets with the recommended amount of tea already pre-measured, no counting or sorting required, which is good for me because sometimes I don’t feel like thinking in the morning!
The flavor of this tea lives up to it’s name! I have to say I am a pretty hardcore fan of this tea and the creative genius that goes along with it! Well done!

Sacrd SynchroniciTEA from Cup of Love. . . .
Sacred SynchroniciTEA from Cup of Love is a lovely blend of black tea and green tea for the base with added flower petals and vanilla. The black tea is actually flavored with the vanilla, specifically, and according to their website.
I sometimes have a hard time with floral flavored teas because I find that they ‘get stale’ quicker or ‘tend to turn bitter’ easier than others. With Sacred SynchroniciTEA from Cup of Love that is NOT the case. This flavored black and green blend is done nicely. It’s fresh, flavorful, floral, and creamy. It’s a tad sweet, too! The vanilla really takes it to the next level!
I also find that it can be difficult to accomplish an even flavor profile when blending black tea and green tea. Cup of Love – was once again – able to do this successfully! I could taste both the black tea and the green tea, evenly. Neither was over powering the other. It made for a solid, blended base. When you taste the floral and vanilla flavors they work in harmony with the base – and again are not too overpowering. I really like the flavor and appreciate the quality of Sacred SynchroniciTEA from Cup of Love.

Maharaja Chai and Samurai Chai Blend from Teavana. . . . .
If you’re anything like me, your friends and family know you love your tea– and have been gifting accordingly this Christmas. In a recent office secret santa swap, I hit the total tea jackpot– a brand new gravity (gravi-tea– heee :)) steeper for my desk at work, and a GIGANTIC tin of this chai blend from Teavana. Score!
Now, early on in my tea-drinking years, Teavana was an initial fave, but in the last few years as I’ve discovered amazing small-batch companies and other small businesses that I love to patronize, I don’t really shop at this iconic mall tea shop anymore. That being said, I know they’re a beloved staple for so many tea drinkers, so I was pumped to get to try one of their more popular blends this holiday season through the generosity of a work friend.
First things first: does this dry leaf ever have the SCENT! It is perhaps the strongest spice from dry leaf that I’ve ever had. Super present are the scents of anise and cardamom, which jump right out to me in the brewed cup as well. This is lovely with some cream, no sweetener needed (unless you like your chai syrupy). My only complaint is that this blend is SO heavy on the spice that I can’t taste any of the tea leaf in my cup– which is supposedly a blend of mate, oolong, and green rooibos. I’d love for this to taste more distinctly tea-ified rather than just being so strong on the spices, but if you’re a fan of spiced chai like I am, this one will hit all the notes of a good chai for you. And deliciously warming for the wintertime, to boot!

Jasmine Pecan Shortbread from A Quarter To Tea. . . .
I know Jasmine Pecan Shortbread is one of those teas that the name just intrigues you right off the bat and if its coming from A Quarter To Tea. . well than I’m really intrigued!
A Quarter To Tea offers unique hand blended small batch flavored teas that are simply brilliant. I’ve ordered my fair share of A Quarter To Teas and have never been disappointed. So I knew when I took a gamble on this particular blend, it would deliver.
And it did!
Let’s start with the buttery smooth green tea base that has a lovely jasmine flavor that doesn’t overwhelm but is noticeable. The pecan notes are the true star of the show. That flavor really brings home the pecan shortbread in the title of this tea.
You wouldn’t think those flavors would work together but they really do. Each sip you are presented with this sweet, nutty, and slightly floral flavor that delivers a truly unique and addicting flavor. There is even a slight vanilla and almost custard flavor as well.
Just delicious and giving me that sweet flavor I need without reaching for the candy bowl. Really lovely and I can’t seem to get enough of that nutty finish. This one is still available and one that I see using some of my Christmas money to get more of.
