Moroccan Mint from The Tea Can Company. . . Minty Love in a Bag!

Every once in a while, you really can’t escape the fact that a tea bag is more convenient. Yes, I know. The flavors sometimes are not the strongest and the best. But sometimes you come across one that actually works for you. This happened with me the other day.

I have a very fast paced deadline oriented job. From the hours of 8-5, I’m typically glued to my computer and trying to multi-task with the best of them. Time Management is critical in my position, but there are times where I can’t even keep up.  I found myself running late for a meeting so I quickly prepped my water up, threw this tea bag in, and my meeting was underway.

And I have to say, for being a bagged tea, this ditty was quite delightful! I couldn’t stop drinking this tea.   I am a huge green tea fan and love my mint flavors, so I knew going in I would probably like this tea. What I didn’t expect was that after I had infused the leaves a few times, I still was wanting more.

The Tea Can Company’s take on this Moroccan Mint was pretty on point. A gorgeous play on mint flavors with an almost roasted like green tea with hints of a vegetal finish. Each sip was as delicious as the one before, even when the cuppa began to cool.

99% of the tea I drink is loose leaf. Besides the obvious issues with bagged teas, I have found that I love the act of brewing/steeping loose leaf tea.  But sometimes in the mad world I work in, I don’t have those spare moments to brew up a pot.  This is where this tea hit home for me.

I’ve tried a few of The Tea Can Company’s offerings and so far I’ve been pretty happy with them. So if you are in the market for a solid bagged tea, I’d suggest checking them out.  But something to consider, this tea does seem to be a bit  on the pricey side. A 10 tea sachet tin canister is $10 but they do offer a mini tin for $4, allowing you a chance to check out the tea before diving into a larger order. I was able to steep the tea a few times over. Just my final thought on this lovely version of a classic blend!

Cinnamon Apple Blossom from The Tea Can Company

In the fall and winter, I keep cinnamon sticks and whole cloves on hand for brewing hot apple cider. As much as I love the spicy, sweet fruit drink, the mulling process can be a bit slow and the cleanup, a bit sticky. When I don’t feel up to the whole hot apple cider shebang, I might just reach for a cup of Cinnamon Apple Blossom from the Tea Can Company instead.

This is a pure fruit and herb tisane, no rooibos or tea leaves included. This blend is wholly made up of apple and cinnamon pieces. Dry, this tea smells like cinnamon candies, the strong artificial cinnamon flavor like Hot Tamales. I let this blend steep long and hot, because I love my teas extra spicy, especially this time of year.

When this tea is brewed, the flaming cinnamon candy scent cools slightly, showing up strongest in the scent rather than the taste. The apple really gets a chance to shine in the hot brew, adding fresh fruit cider flavors to the tea. Despite the strong candy fragrance, this tea isn’t overly sweet, mostly filled out with natural, authentic apple flavor. Add a touch of honey if you want a sweeter experience. Mixed with cream and sweetener, this blend will taste like cinnamon apple pie and whipped cream.

It’s hard to go wrong with apple and cinnamon, and this blend is perfect for your fall festivities or to warm you up during the holidays.

Orange Almond from The Tea Can Company. . . . .

I wanted something orange. But more than just orange. Maybe something nutty. Enter Orange Almond from The Tea Can Company. It’s a loose tea inside a sheer silken bag. I just LOVE it when I can see ALL of the ingredients!

On the bag it says Orange Almond from The Tea Can Company has Black Tea, Orange Peel, Apple Pieces, Almond Pieces, Cinnamon Chips, Rose Petals, Cinnamon, Orange Spice flavor, and Orange Flavor.

From the teas I have had so far from The Tea Can Company they have all been impressive with the aroma and flavor to back it up but I have to say that Orange Almond from The Tea Can Company was even more scented and flavored than the others I have tried! This put a smile on my face!

I was able to get 2 steeps out of 1 bag. The first one was INTENSELY flavored. I could taste the orange, almond, and cinnamon ingredients VERY well. The apple contributed to the sweetness but wasn’t overly distinct like the other flavors, however, if it wasn’t there I doubt it would have been as sweet. I think it would have probably been more of a spicier-cinnamon flavor. So I truly believe their was a method to their madness and I would have to say that it was a beaming success!

The 2nd steep was still flavorful but the cinnamon was knock down a notch. The apple seemed to shine more in the 2nd steep and had more of a personality of its own.

This was a MIGHTY flavored black tea that I enjoyed VERY much! If you like orange, spice, and nuts – give this one a whirl!

Mango Amazon from The Tea Can Company

I wouldn’t say I was an exceptional HISTORY student back in the day but the topics I was interested in I tended to research extensively. One of the topics I enjoyed not only in HISTORY but in GEOGRAPHY was AMAZONS and THE AMAZON. So when I saw Mango Amazon TEA from The Tea Can Company of course I had to try it for myself!

I may be a tad obsessed with Amazons. By Amazons – I mean the female warriors – known throughout history. I was a fan of Xena. Heck, I even ‘belonged’ to an online small group about 15 years ago of all females who made up a modern day ‘tribe’ that not only were friends but ‘sisters’ who shared our real daily lives with each other – as well as – wrote an ongoing story based around Amazon Living. I know – I know – it’s kind of nerdy – but – if you have been around The Sororitea Sisters for any amount of time – you already know that many of us are nerdy in one way or another and we tend to be pretty proud of that.

I also really appreciate THE AMAZON for all of it’s glorious beauty and wonder. The Amazon Rain Forest, The Amazon Jungle, The Amazon Basin…you name it…I appreciate it! The animals, the plant life, the scenery, the history! I hate to see the deforestation happening but that is for another day and another post.

I know I went off on quite a tangent here but when I drink tea I have several things that go through my mind. I have a lot of different associations with each tea whether it be because of the name, the flavor, the ingredients, the story behind it, the place the ingredients hail from, etc.

I really like Mango Amazon from The Tea Can Company for these and many other reasons. To get to the actual flavor part of the review I will say that the Mango in this flavored black tea isn’t over done but it is done nicely. Pair that with the floral flavors of the Marigold and the pucker of the Passion Fruit and you have something pretty darn special here!

The sweet to floral flavor combo is pretty even-steven and I think the passion fruit gives it a bitter of pucker which is nice and needed to make this flavor come full circle! It black tea base is a medium strength black tea but the flavor combo is what shines here – and the flavors all mesh well – they aren’t too over powering and done very nicely! For a trip back in time or to another place without leaving the comfort of your home give Mango Amazon from The Tea Can Company a try – it certainly made my day!
